Goalkeepers are meant to keep the ball out of the net, save the team by not out-conceding the opponents. Most of the time, they are deprived the praise and adulations worthy of their heroics in between the sticks, especially in a striker centric fanbase.

The goal scorers are the most recognized and adored for their performances in front of goals and the Midfielders in the middle of the park. However, recently, Goalkeepers have earned accolades for their abilities and performances especially with their style evolving into more of use their legs.

Tim Howard is a testament to this fact after he was truly fortunate to have scored in a Premier League game at the Goodison Park against Bolton in 2012.



The goalkeeper hit a back pass very long and it bounced on the pitch just once before going past the Bolton goalkeeper into the back of the net in the defense of the Bolton’s goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, it was windy on the match day and so maybe Tim Howard got a bit of help from the wind.

Sadly, luck was not on Everton’s side as they lost 1-2 to the visitors.
