This is a message to anyone out there never to give up on destiny. Pursue what you want because you will have yourself to blame if you fail to achieve your dream giving up to excuses or intimidation. "I took my first undergrad lecture in August 2004, now I'm a graduate after 17 years". Better be late than NEVER! 4 Likes

Doesn't mean he spent 17 years in school. He took his first class in 2004. He could have dropped out to pursue other things before deciding to go back to uni. 3 Likes |

Oboy oh. Even if you’re doing 2 courses per session, it shouldn’t have taken so long. We don’t have to glorify failure in guise of encouraging others. What should take 4 or 5 years, should not be glorified if it took 17 years. This is same reason a contractor can construct less than 5Km road for over 8years and we clap for them at completion after the contract was awarded and re-awarded severely to same contractor. Bros, your tenacity to acquire a degree is great but the time it took, to me is not quite good. You could have achieved more in the same time if things had gone the natural way. |

NwaliE01: You do not know the story behind it. besides the fact that someone may have paid for your university tuition and you came out at the exact time does not mean it was so around the world.... Some people actually pay by themselves to be in school...Most time, they do not do these Uncle and aunt coming to the rescue when a parent could not pay... once someone is 18, the person is out fending for themselves, working at MacDonalds and other places.. Some started earlier than that.... You have to know one's background before you start criticizing...Yes it might be well with you all around, but that's not how it was for others.. R Richy4:Bros, I paid my school fees right from O level till today am rounding up my masters. Everybody have one challenge or the other. That I didn’t come out on nairaland to voice out doesn’t mean all is well. Personally, I feel the situation was not properly managed. |
