You nailed one of the lesson everyone especially newbies should learn. Always use stop loss. Saves you ton of headaches.
Also, as much as possible trade in USDT pair.
Imagine u don't have data or network coverage to move ur BTC or Alt to USDT, all ur profit and even ur investments will be negative.

But for most people following the herd is their only game plan...... they weep because they fomoed and bought btc at 50k during a bullrun and failed to lock profits, now that's there's a correction they're shittin the bed selling or getting liquidated. This shit is common sense, why would you buy something when prices are going up(bullrun) and sell when prices are going down(what you call capitulation).

While you're right, there's nothing wrong in entering a market in a bull run. As long as u can time the market well and enter at the right place...
Say you enter at the beginning of a bull run, u can make quick profits and get out or first move ur profit out and use stop loss to minimize any capitulation.
Essentially, many lose money cos of FOMO and greed. Greed and emotion na the two most difficult thing to control in this market.
