Just like a footballer who starts limping just after missing an opportunity to score a clean goal in order to confuse the fans on what went wrong, so is Umahi who has made a U-turn to save face because he knows no one will honour his threats.

This is not even because of MNK's comment on the issue but because he has realized that the same people whom he expects to monitor whom and whom didn't open their shops will be sitting at home as well; even his State's Secretariat will be desolate.

This brings me to my question.
Why are the SouthEastern governors ever hungry to appear politically correct?

Before the FG accepted June 12 as the new democracy day, several Southwestern states already had it as a State holiday.

Only recently; having hastily declared a public holiday for the Id El Fitr because Garba Shehu wrongly sighted the moon, the Muslims were shortchanged because their holiday should have been for Thursday and Friday and not Wednesday and Thursday.
Guess what, most Northern governors declared public holidays in their states to make up for this goof.

So what is the problem of governors ndi Igbo?

Will Umahi, Ikpeazu, Uzodinma, Obiano or Ugwuanyi say they do not have family or kith who were casualties of the Biafran Civil war, or do they imply that the near-extermination of their tribesmen in a war for a sense of belonging is not worthy of honour?

The Northerners are actually not the Southerner's problems. The Southerner's leaders are the Southerner's problems.

It is quite surprising that Igbo people have not extracted GUILTY wages from the rest of Nigeria over the Biafra war killings like the Jews with Holocaust and Rwandan Tutsis with genocide.
Why is that so
Overfocused on money & money only?

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Government of Ebonyi State has received several requests from some families and residents of the State, requesting that they would like to remain indoors on Monday, May 31, 2021, to organize private family prayers in honor of their loved ones who were murdered during the unfortunate civil war. Some of the people with this special request own shops in some of our markets across the state.

While as a government, we remain resolute in the protection of lives and property of Ebonyians and all residents of Ebonyi State, we are aware that it is the right of anyone to remain at home or go about his/her normal businesses in this regard.

Following the foregoing, the Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE who is highly in touch with the people has directed that those who may wish to remain at home with their shop(s) locked should neither be penalized, nor their shop(s) seized as it is their constitutional right while the rights of those who may wish to go about their normal businesses should not be infringed upon as it is equally their constitutional right.

He has also directed security agencies to do everything possible to maintain law and order in the entire Ebonyi State while maintaining the ban of any procession and gathering of any kind throughout the state.

Ebonyi has never really considered themselves core Igbos. The way they are treated as third class Igbos (at best) by some Igbos doesn’t help matters. So even without stupid threats from their governor, if left to themseves, a high level of noncompliance is expected.

We keep talking about decentralizing the centre (Fed Govt.), this is the way to go. The people should collectively decide what to and not to do with either their lives or businesses, inasmuch its within the confines of the law. Most times the Fed. Govt. makes us feel like they own our lives. I love this.

Now i can conclude that Mostly All of Ebonyi Indigenous People are daft. No wonder they litter the streets of Lagos selling Gala & all sorts in Traffic. I also have one Ebonyi state guy in my Area, he acts like a Junkyard. This Governor Umahi is A Fulani Ass licking Governor. His stupidity shows that Ebonyi People are still far from Civilization. Their mindset is as Myopic as they Appear. I will suggest We the real Ndigbo dash Ebonyi people to Hausa /Fulani Enclaves.

While as a government, we remain resolute in the protection of lives and property of Ebonyians and all residents of Ebonyi State, we are aware that it is the right of anyone to remain at home or go about his/her normal businesses in this regard.
