Changes that I want to see in WWE (Raw and SmackDown)

1. Kevin Owens to switch to Raw. It's a good idea. Just think about it.

2. Randy Orton to switch to SmackDown and challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship. WWE still owes us that match. It was supposed to happen in a champion vs champion match in the last survivor series but Drew McIntyre took Randy's spot.

3. A special appearance of Bobby Lashley on SmackDown interrupting Roman Reigns (perhaps when Reigns is talking about how he's the main champ and how the WWE champ is a secondary champ)

4. Daniel Bryan on Raw

5. Something very creative with Corbin. That guy is an asset and WWE isn't utilizing him well enough. Maybe he should team up with Jimmy and feud with Roman+Jey.

6. Another NXT invasion on Raw and Smackdown. Females, this time around.

Major Feud with who?

Gulak? Lmao.

Reginald is more than the character he's currently playing. Let them get serious with him and make him a real part of the male roaster.

A feud with Garza will be nice. Since they both play the same loverboy, prince charming, cute smile, rose giving, dressing to kill character.

I don't see it happening...Garza will always be above him and it won't be a fair feud...

Vince can never get serious with Reginald

WWE SMACKDOWN REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

blood is not thicker than water
Before the first commercial, I already knew that this was the only match that mattered on this show.
From the second SmackDown went on the air, to when this match was over, I was glued to the television. And that’s a testament to all five stars. Actually no... seven. Because even Pat McAfee and Michael Cole added to this.
This was magic. This was professional wrestling at its best. Few matches in the pandemic era of wrestling have truly deserved fans in the building, and this was one of them.
Montez Ford somehow outdoes himself every time he’s in a big match. That unreal leap over the turnbuckle to the floor. He’s only done it a couple of times previously, and when he did it here I nearly jumped out of my chair.
But the big story here is making me give myself a pat on the back, because I called it.
All this time, Roman Reigns has never wanted Jey Uso to win. Because if Jey Uso wins, that’s just another winner taking shine off the Head of the Table. And no one in his family but him can hold gold.
Enter Jimmy Uso, who thinks that the blood running through his twin brother is thicker than it appears. Jimmy is acting exactly how Jey did before Jey figured out the hard way that Reigns isn’t messing around. It’s been too long, and Jey is fully committed to the Tribal Chief.
Not even tag team gold is enticing him. Because he’s been indoctrinated into this mindset. Reigns is the top dog, Reigns is the winner. He is the attack dog. He picks apart the men so Reigns can come in and have his hand held high.
And Reigns did his best to keep his lackey in check. Brilliantly telling him that he’ll only be back to the same old stuff and confused with his brother. That taking the tag title match next week is aligning himself with his brother and away from Reigns. It’s brilliant.
And you can see that Jey isn’t happy, even though he won this match and gets a shot at the tag titles next week. It’s so good.
I said it last year about Jey, and now I have to say it about Jimmy - Jimmy doesn’t know what he has coming to him next week. Poor man.

Happy Birthday!
Seth Rollins is doing some of his best work right now.
He came out to call Cesaro out and fight, but then did the laugh and reminded us why Cesaro couldn’t come out.
He said he had exclusive audio from Cesaro’s hospital room and that was pretty funny. He faked us out thinking he was going to blame himself, but instead, he blamed us for brainwashing Cesaro to believing he deserved opportunities he didn’t earn. If Cesaro never wrestles again, it’s on our hands.
Really good stuff. More of the “drip” as the kids would call it with Rollins’ suit looking like he came out of the jungle. I didn’t think this feud would be the one to bring Seth back to good graces with me, but he’s been nailing it since returning.
Cesaro is going to be so much fun to get back at him for this vicious beatdown last week. To be honest I wouldn’t mind if this was a Cell match at Hell in a Cell.

The Rest
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Chad Gable
The Boogs cruise and the King of Strong Style are a wonderful pair. Gable should be on television every week. Those belly to belly suplexes were a thing of beauty to start this match. Kinshasa got Nakamura the quick win. Corbin came out before the match was done and grabbed his crown, but BOOGS took him out and the crown was returned to its rightful owner. I love this.

Dominik Mysterio defeated The Dirty Dawgz
They heavily telegraphed that Rey was going to get taken out before this match so that Dom would have to go it alone. The match wasn’t very long but I did like Rey coming out to distract Dolph so that Dom could take advantage of it and win.

Bianca Belair defeated Carmella
This match came up quite randomly. Cole and Bayley is the money match we’ll never get. Carmella is always really good in the ring so it was a fun match, but it was hard to pay attention to this when Bayley and Cole and McAfee were a delight on commentary. Having good stuff on commentary with a match that I don’t really care about is going to take my focus away from the match. Cole’s gaffe calling Belair “Belanca” and Bayley ripping him for it made me burst out laughing. It’s clear that Bayley and Bianca aren’t done yet. I don’t really know how I feel about that. I mean, anyone gets title matches for anything these days and I love the two, so I won’t be too upset about it.

Apollo Crews Nigerian Nail defeated Kevin Owens
That damn Nigerian Nail did it again, and hit Owens right as he was about to win the match. The referee called the disqualification, and later, Adam Pearce gave Owens the title match next week anyway. Such a nice guy!

Natalya and Tamina defeated the Riott Squad
Riott and Morgan were quite aggressive here, taking out Tamina at the start and taking turns picking Natalya apart. Tamina finally came back in and dominated the Riotts. Riott tried to arm drag Tamina off the top rope and didn’t have a chance. Not a bad match, but more L’s to the Riott Squad. It’s unfortunate.

WWE RAW REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Dumb and Dumber
Usually I start these recaps with positive stuff and work my way into the misses.
There were very few hits this week. No more than two smaller things and a whole segment/match got a smile out of me. A majority of this show was just lame.
So Miz TV kicked us off, and John Morrison was wearing garlic around his neck, and while that’s not how you repel zombies, I appreciate the effort. Also a... drip stick? Yeah. A drip stick.
Miz spewed on about how he needed to be back to be a support for all superstars. He introduced Charlotte Flair and Morison provided music to accompany her entrance. Flair made Miz stand for her even with his injury. That’s what a Queen does.
Flair said she had her fairytale WrestleMania victory and she’ll be sending Ripley to hell, standard Hell in a Cell speak. Of course that brought out Ms. Brutality who proceeded to tell her to go to hell.
Morrison asked basically if she was a vampire, which got a chuckle out of me. Miz brought up last week’s two minute loss and hey look its a rare two week sighting of Nikki Cross. I genuinely didn’t expect them to even push it further.
She tried to angle a match with Flair to become the new contender. So Flair decided that she could beat Cross in... ONE minute! However the time to beat clock showed two minutes which... okay.
And the reason why it was two minutes is because they had to have Cross duck her for a full minute and chase Flair to the announce table, where Flair spent 15 seconds trash talking Ripley. At the 15 second mark Flair finally got some real offense and the clock ran out.
So... literally what happened last week happened this week with the same players featuring the exact same finish. So creative!
I love all three of these women, and I couldn’t care less about any of this. This is shit. Complete shit. Moronic. Stupid. Dumb.
And my girl Nikki Cross has been picking up wins in all of this. Still moronic. Still stupid. Still dumb.
Why should I care about any of this? Both the champion and the challenger are made to look stupid. Neither can beat Nikki Cross in two minutes. How does Nikki not get added to the Hell in a Cell match?
This is shit.

More of the same
We were so close to something different.
So close.
I should have expected it after this show, but damn it WWE sucks sometimes, don’t they? They had backstage promos with Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston on the show, and I couldn’t even listen to Drew’s. Sheesh that guy is dull as hell these days.
But then they went to Kofi, and he took his own “cheap shot at Drew after Drew talked about his seven second loss to Brock. He alluded to some reality-ish explanations of that without actually getting into the specifics.
We all know how trash that was. And there could have been a bit of a get good by having Kofi go over here and let him have a good rematch with Lashley at Hell in a Cell.
Nope.
See how awesome that would have been? I love Xavier and Kofi.
Look they had a good match, and the final Claymore was pretty good.
Who cares about this really? It’s the same damn thing we’ve been seeing since WrestleMania. Drew needs to be away from the top title for a bit. His ex-best friend is the damn US champion! Do something there!
It’s just lame. Lame is such an apathetic word for me.
And that’s how I feel about all of this - apathetic. It’s Drew and Bobby. Again. Rinse and repeat. Instead of doing something interesting and something people would want.
That’s the story with a majority of WWE these days.

You’re just a doll
I’m just putting this extra thing here to follow the last thing you’ll read on this recap.
Reginald has been such a pawn in the women’s division feud that he is being used to get Alexa Bliss with Shayna.
Her magical powers aren’t good enough to just start a feud. No it has to be because Reginald is an invited guest on the playground.
And it was mainly because Lilly wanted to know what his life as an acrobat was like.
So Shayna took him out and then said she needed to talk to Alexa... next week. Not right now as she’s sitting there... but next week.
And then she got in the doll’s face and called it a stupid doll.
What an image.
She’s likely to get murdered now, as horror movies have taught me.
Take a look at the end of the recap to see my full thoughts on all of this.

Bro Derek outta nowhere!
It was so great that right after the first shit half hour of this show, we got one of the best parts of the show.
Riddle was backstage with Damian Priest (sorry bud you probably wish Bad Bunny was still around) and he was asking Priest how to say stuff in Spanish. When he asked how to say hey Randy, Priest just said “Hey Randy” because Randy was behind Riddle. It was a good moment but I‘d like to see more than this from him.
Orton asked him to come out and watch the match with Woods to take some notes and get in the groove as a tag team, and they did the bit with the lock and key so Riddle would shut up. It just works with Riddle.
Orton at one point was getting beat up pretty good with an explosive elbow to his head (or dome as Jimmy Smith put it) and it led Orton to cheat to get an advantage. Orton told Riddle to watch and it cost him a quicker victory because Woods fought out of the DDT.
Randy Orton did a fvcking Bro Derek. Literally what I said aloud. I did not expect that and I absolutely love the little details here.
Riddle is great here.
Orton tried to show Riddle how its done his way, and it didn’t work. So he remembered that Riddle did the RKO outta nowhere last week and won, So Orton did a Bro Derek outta nowhere.
This is entertaining. All the characters are clicking, making sense, and are into what they’re doing. Hey, whaddya know that leads to a smile on my face! More please!

The Rest
AJ Styles and Omos defeated Elias and Ryker
So Elias basically decided to leave the tag title match when Ryker was going to tag him in. Before the match, Elias asked Ryker if he had ever been in battle after borderline scolding him, to which he turned around and said he served in Iraq. Now it’s Memorial Day here in the states and that felt quite a bit babyface-ish in the way it was presented. I’m not on the Ryker train but okay the dude served so I have respect there.
Now what I took from this is that Elias doesn’t care about that and getting pushed around by Omos is worse than fighting a literal war. Elias instead said that Ryker hasn’t been on his side when he needed help, but last week Ryker beat him with his help. Ryker’s unpredictable and he dumped him. Okay then. There was a match here. It was fine.

Ricochet defeated Sheamus / Humberto Carrillo defeated Sheamus
So is it just me or has Sheamus been a bit more... Irish... than he’s usually been presented? Like I feel like he’s almost a caricature of himself since this open challenge stuff started. Accent is thicker and more pronounced, like he’s trying out for a live action Lucky Charms commercial. That’s how it feels to me. The accent doesn’t bother me at all, it just sounds much different. Anyway Carrillo assisted Ricochet, and Ricochet assisted Carrillo. Also Carrillo busted Sheamus’ nose hard. Hope he’s alright.

MACE and T-BAR defeated Lucha House Party
MACE and T-BAR said that tonight would be the night of Lucha House Party’s extinction. These dudes look silly as hell still having the face paint on without masks.

Dana and Mandy defeated Lana and Naomi
There will be a lot more of these because there are literally only 5 main roster women’s tag teams. 4 out of 5 were on this show.

Cedric Alexander defeated Shelton Benjamin
There will be a lot more of these because they will never stop feuding. Same exact thing as last week. Potentially the same exact thing next week.

Reginald defeated Shayna Baszler
More stupid shit. My God. F*** this. I could spew 1,000 words on this but it doesn’t deserve any more time.

WWE NXT REVIEWS RECAPS AND REACTIONS

Triple threat No. 1 contender’s match
By order of General Manager William Regal on last week’s show, former North American champion Johnny Gargano would face former United Kingdom champion “Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne and former three time NXT tag team champion Kyle O’Reilly in a triple threat match to open the show. The winner would emerge the No. 1 contender to face Karrion Kross at Takeover: In Your House on June 13th.
This is pure armchair quarterbacking at its finest, but I would have put a match this important at the end of the show rather than the beginning, out of fear that viewers would tune out and watch something else the moment this one was over. Nevertheless it was a solid in-ring affair with the typical triple threat formula of knocking one man out of the ring so the other two could battle for a bit, only for the third man to break it up and reset the action. Dunne had the best spot out of all of them when he did a double finger manipulation and a double hand stomp to Gargano and O’Reilly. How and why have we never seen that in a three way before?
Just when it seemed like we were on the verge of one of the three pulling ahead of the pack and emerging victorious, Dunne and O’Reilly got attacked by a rampaging Adam Cole, swinging a chair like the late Balls Mahoney. He wasted no time laying everyone to waste.
The ref tried to break it up and got knocked down, then smashed into the plexiglass for good measure. Cole got into the ring to wipe out Johnny Gargano, and an irate William Regal came down with two security officials to throw him out — but not before he got in one more cheap shot on O’Reilly!

At this point your opinion of what happened next is either that it was either carefully orchestrated chaos or a show that had very little announced going in quickly turning into “send people out and let them do whatever.” Ember Moon ran out to challenge Raquel González to a fight. Moon got the better of her as Regal and the security guards ran back out to the ring. but while Moon was celebrating her come up and González was being held back, Dakota Kai snuck up behind her and destroyed her with kicks.
Even WWE’s official Twitter account for NXT said the show had “gone off the rails,” but even if it was planned to that degree it wasn’t entirely satisfying to see. Who wants to invest nearly a half hour into a triple threat match to determine a new challenger for the NXT title that ends with no winner? Not me. Who wants chaos (even scripted chaos) to completely take over the show? Not me. That chaos continued straight into the next segment.

“Dummy, yeah!”
With a callback to Impact Wrestling, L.A. Knight made his way to the ring and proclaimed he’d be taking on Jake Atlas. As you might expect we had both Ted DiBiase coming out to the entrance ramp to watch, and Cameron Grimes coming out to talk to the Million Dollar Man. Grimes didn’t so much interfere in the match as he did annoy DiBiase by running his mouth non stop. In the end Atlas took advantage of the showboating Knight and hit a cartwheel DDT off the ropes to get the pin.
Why send Grimes out if he’s not going to cost Knight the match directly? You can argue it furthers the storyline with Ted DiBiase I suppose, but if Knight would look stupid for losing on interference, he looks even stupider losing without any! That doesn’t make me want to see either one of these men vie for DiBiase’s affections.

Adam Cole hijacks the show (again)
As if his first interruption wasn’t enough, Adam Cole came right out to the ring to take over the show again. "I was champion for 400+ days for a reason, I run this place, and Karrion Kross is a jacked up musclehead not fit to lace my boots". An irate Kross hit the ring to argue with him, Regal came out in a vain attempt to regain control, and Kross told him he wants everybody from the triple threat and Adam Cole at Takeover all at one time.
Out of a show that felt like a million things being thrown at a wall to see what sticks, this segment stuck the most. Kross and Cole hit all the right notes in their respective promos and even though I would have preferred Kross have just one contender, his justification for not wanting a one-on-one title defense at least helps it make sense. There’s only one problem here — if he destroys four different top contenders at once on June 13th, who can possibly challenge him for the title after that? Would Bronson Reed vacate the North American title to get a shot? Who else is there? I’m serious. Who, else, is there

MSK faces Legado del Fantasma
Despite the interference of the Grizzled Young Veterans ensuring that Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher lost their own contender’s match against Legado del Fantasma, GM Regal ruled that the results of the match would stand and that Legado would get to face MSK for the titles. I didn’t suspect that WWE would make a title switch with just under two weeks to go before Takeover, but that’s why we watch right? Let’s talk about what happened.
As you would expect Legado spent a lot of time cutting off the ring for two on one beatdowns, all with a smiling Santos Escobar sitting by the commentators, biding his time for an opportunity to interfere. When Wes Lee crashed to the ground right in front of him, Escobar posted him into the steel steps and threw him back. Nash Carter saved him from the pin at the very last possible second, and then an angry Bronson Reed charged down to ringside to smash Escobar into the plexiglass.
Joaquin Wilde ate the pin moments later for a solid main event to a very disorganized show.

Hit Row vs. Killian Dain & Drake Maverick
Don’t sleep on the parking lot outside the Capitol Wrestling Center. An angle involving the stars of NXT getting in each other’s faces before or during the show is practically a trope at this point, but that’s not to say I’m tired of it. In fact it’s impressive that they almost always have the cameras white balanced properly for the broad sunlight of the bright outdoors. it’s not that easy to do. In any case when Hit Row arrived for today’s taping, things quickly got heated between them and the tag team of Killian Dain & Drake Maverick.
One might have assumed this would be followed up on with a match on NXT proper. One would assume incorrectly. They showed the video package, but no other mention of the incident nor match between these teams occurred. Maybe next week?

KUSHIDA’s open challenge
Less than a half hour before the show went to air we got breaking news via social media.
Who would step up to accept KUSHIDA’s open challenge? A young rookie named Carmelo Hayes. The powers that be backstage must think a lot of the young man, because he took a large percentage of the match, and KUSHIDA sold a lot for him to make him look like he can go toe-to-toe with the long time veteran. Ultimately though despite going through a commercial break with Hayes being in control afterward, he still got taken down and put in the Hoverboard Lock for the submission.
As the announcers like to say Hayes has some innovative offense so I enjoyed his late notice challenge to KUSHIDA. I’m not sure I’d have a newcomer “run the bingo” that much but if they go somewhere with Hayes in the future then perhaps it was a necessary evil. If they drop it as quickly as they did Zayda Ramier after her program with Toni Storm though, it wasn’t worth it at all. Speaking of which...

Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell vs. Zayda Ramier & Zoey Stark
It was a non-title match for The Way, and the challengers still didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell. A couple of quick hope spots didn’t change the champs getting the win.
On a show this random and messy, this kind of squash restored sanity to the proceedings. Good job to everyone involved.

What else do you need to know?
Xia Li wants revenge for losing to Mercedes Martinez at the Mae Young Classic.
Mercedes Martinez vowed to “run through her” at Takeover in response.

Speaking of wrestlers booking their own programs, Ember Moon vowed to take out the “lackey” Dakota Kai on next week’s show.

She also promised that with Kai out of the way, she’d be able to take from Raquel González the thing that matters to her the most at Takeover — the NXT women’s title. One more thing: the Grizzled Young Veterans tried to get a closer look at the night’s main event, but Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher were having none of it.

Grade: B-
I know that giving a C or lower to NXT is tantamount to fighting words around here, but we are infinitesimally close to that mark tonight. A really good tag team main event and a really strong opener before Adam Cole interrupted were good enough book ends to a show to save the grade, along with the Cole vs. Kross segment to explain why Adam Cole (bay bay) ruined a perfectly good triple threat. The Way winning a squash non-title match helped too. Honestly I should have known this show would be a cluster going in given that by Monday night they had only announced two matches, but after a solid A last week this show can’t possibly compare to that one. Here’s hoping they right the ship before Takeover

WWE has come to terms on the releases of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett.

Braun released

Is WWE mad??

This is rubbish

They better bring an A list wrestler if they're sending Braun away

TBH I don't understand, just 2 months ago they released some people too and Samoa Joe was among, I don't think it's a funds matter

The clowns aren't aware that Braun is a major force in the company

Who takes such ridiculous decision

WWE Revenue was $263.5 million in the first quarter of 2021, a decrease of 9% or $27.5 million, reflecting the absence of the Company’s ticketed live events and a large-scale international event, partially offset by the upfront revenue recognition related to the delivery of certain WWE Network intellectual property rights

From their website, so funds isn't d issue.

With their crappy storylines, I'm not surprised stars like Strowman moved on. WWE seriously needs a major rival. I hope AEW steps up real time.

Only God knows where they buried the FIEND. Alexa Bliss is just wasting away. So many stars are being rendered useless because of lack of or crappy storylines.

Bray took time off for mental health issues so can't pin that one on WWE, let him take his time and work things out.

Well, we'll have to wait for more details to come out, no need jumping to conclusions.

But Braun gives up easily... He doesn't use his body as an advantage compared to Lesnar

Braun is not lesnar, he doesn't have d pull of lesnar nor the athleticism, he is one dimensional and frankly not world championship material.

The fiend was emasculated at wrestlemania by Alexa who is now in partial or total control of it's power.
