All Nigerian tiles are good. Just make proper enquiry. I was a pro Italian/Spanish tile before but the prices are on the high side and I needed to save money to do other things. I first bought a few Nigerian tiles to be used in the bathrooms and kitchen to see how it would look.

The tiler has completed the visitors toilets with the Nigerian Goodwill tiles and I am now constrained to use Nigerian made tiles 100% for the whole areas of the building. Attached is the first work did by the tiler (visitors toilet) using Nigerian tiles and it turned out good the way I wanted. I earlier wanted to use white Spanish wall tiles and brown wooden floor tiles. The Nigerian own still appeared ok.

If you are building on a budget, save yourself the stress and channel the extra fund to other things. Cement for the tiling is not smiling at the moment.

The Simplest Way To Calculate The Numbers Of Blocks U Need For Your Fence


The simplest way to calculate the numbers of blocks you need for your fence project, assuming you are fencing a land measuring 120 feet by 60 ft, a standard plot

This calculation is based on 9 inches block fence .
The measurement we are using is 120 ft (length) and since we have two lengths that is multiply by 2 which is 240 ft. (120 x 2) = 240

The breadth is 60 ft and also since we have 2 breadths that equal 120 ft (60 x 2) = 120
Then (240 + 120) that is 360 feet perimeter line fencing.

The calculation

(we are to convert this 360 feet to inches ) since a foot is 12 inches , now let us multiply 12 inches by 360 ft which is 4320 inches.

Now to get the line numbers of blocks that will go around the fence perimeters of 4320 inches or 360 feet, we would need to divide 4320 by 18 inches, since the length of any block be it 6 inches or 9 inches is 18inches.

Now 4320 inches divide by 18 inches is approximately 240 line of blocks , then we must multiply that by the numbers of coaches of blocks you want for your height, assuming 7 ft which is 9 coaches that means 240 multiply by 9 which is 2160 blocks, i have been using this method for years without any mistake, and for this work, you only need 30 bags of cements, one bag of cement to 50 blocks.

for your pillars between the fence, let assume 6 blocks from one pillar to the next pillar, that means 6 divide by 240 which is 40 pillars.

40 lengths of 12mm iron rod, since one pillar is equivalent to 1 length.

3 lengths of 16mm iron rod for the 2 big pillars holding the gate.

90 planks of soft wood for the framing.

1 truck of granite (granite would be use for the wall foundation and columns or pillars )

90 tons of Sharp Sand or dagbolu.

In the long run, I don't think so. I invested in inverter and batteries and for the past 8 years, I have been enjoying uninterrupted power supply. In my current area, we usually have up to 18hours of power supply in a day. In those hours without power, my inverter takes over. Sometimes, when fully charged, I disconnect from public supply, making my monthly power purchase to fall drastically. I cant even remember buying fuel for my generator.

Now, I want to take it further by adding solar. Initial cost outlay is high as I intend to get two of that 535w Canadian mono instead of having four parallel solar panels. I will completely disengaged from public power and switch back during cloudy weather. Make no mistake about it, cost of power from public supply will keep going high. I have applied for prepaid meter for my new build but yet to get response from EKEDC, after more than 11 months.

They have been bringing outrageous bills to people living in that estate. Imagine getting a bill of 30k every month for non existing power. This has propelled me to get this solar even though is being financed via loans. Solar and clean energy is the future. It takes out inconvenience and stress from you.

You are lucky, you get 18hrs from Public Supply!
Sometimes l dont get 5hrs in my area.
I currently have an Inverter and combine battery capacity of 12,000AH but the short power supply does not allow them to charge fully.
Now, l intend to buy ten Units of that 535W Solar Panel but the Price is just rising astronomically and that is what is annoying me right now, It keeps raising my budget. I need more batteries and at least a 5KVA Hybrid Inverter and my budget is swelling right in my face.

Nothing can beat public power supply because no matter the equipment or wattage, it would carry it and you can use anyhow.
All these Green Energy are limited in what they can do, except you are ready to really invest, as in heavy investment like #10M, before you can really say you are free to use as you like on Solar!

You should note that inverter/solar are not meant to replace grid totally. You are not using solar to power an AC or water heater. My solar or inverter are to power LED bulbs, fan, charge phones and laptops and provide you basic comforts at home.

My deep freezers, ACS, and other high energy appliances are to be powered by grid or generator.

At a very high cost. For retail users, it would be expensive to get solar that would power the whole appliances. I had to calculate my load usage to get the most cost effective solar set up.
