Only a region with peace can accommodate developments. It is a total waste of money to undertake projects in a place where it would be destroyed.

It is a known fact that the first Niger bridge was commissioned by Tafawa Balewa in December 1965, but destroyed by the people it was built for in January 1966
It is also a known fact that in 2021, the security measures provided are being attacked and destroyed by the people it's meant to protect.

By “the people it was built for”, you mean NIGERIANS?!
Why make it sound as if something built in Nigeria is for anyone other than Nigerians?!

I guess he isn't busy enough or why go about commissioning roads? I wonder why they commission projects when they can finish it, open it up for use, and move on to the next project.

If the government build roads, the governor can commission them for all I care…
Much rather that roads are actually built, than be bothered by ephemeral stuff like “unnecessary” commissioning.

Let quit chasing shadows in derogation of substance.

So it is clear they don't want your development. Just give them their ancestral land. Is that so difficult to do?

When a man really wants freedom, nothing you give to him is enough to mortgage his desire to be free, nothing you offer to him is worth exchanging for the quest to be free. Whatever you build for him is a sad reminder to him that he is not free from you. That is the case of Biafrans. They are asking Nigeria to take everything and give them their freedom, what else should man do or say for people to know that he values his freedom.

Commissioning is an opportunity to personally render ACCOUNT to the local community for what he was elected to do….
And (in Lagos, where every project has a signpost that reads “Your Taxes at Work”) to implore the local community to take ownership.

And they are asking for this “freedom” while domiciled all over Nigeria?! shocked

There are more Ibos across Nigeria than there are non-Ibo Nigerians resident in the Southeast.
Never understand how supposedly educated folks surrender the agenda to primordial demagogues.

By commissioning roads? Now I see why the government can take us for a ride.

But of course! Rendering accounts isn’t just by sitting in an air-conditioned office and publishing lists…
One of the most effective means of communications is a two-way interaction between the communicator and his audience

Meanwhile, Nigerian governments take folks like you “for a ride” because you think mixing with the public is beneath them…
But ELECTED public officers are SERVANTS of the people, and the more intelligent ones GO to those people and render ACCOUNT!
