The pain from Twitter choosing Ghana still have these bald headed fowls in severe menstrual pains.

Nigeria government doesn't need twitter, there had been government and governance before twitter.

The best information I heard from Lai Muhammed ever since he became minister of information. if the print and electronic medias and some bloggers can registered their companies in Nigeria, all these social media giant companies suppose to register in Nigeria, the same way they did to them in China, Russia and some European countries.

And if any of the platforms refuse to comply with Nigerian law, they will be kicked out of the Nigerian market.

Biggest middle class in Africa and biggest economy in Africa, with an annual GDP of 1.16 TRILLION dollars per annum, calculated by PPP (Purchasing Power Parity).

Twitter, by comparison, earned 1.2 billion dollars last year.

That is chicken change for top Nigerian business conglomerates, not to mention the Nigerian govt.

Twitter is shiit compared to Nigeria.

Stop writing jargons. Twitter market share capital worth more than total Nigeria GDP

This is long over due,for tax purposes.

They are suppose to pay taxes on revenue generated in Nigeria.

The world has gone far beyond this. Yes, Twitter would like to connect with the large number of enterprising youths in Nigeria but of what use is one administration to them? Soldier go, soldier comes, Twitter is still there? You forgot that Twitter completely took down the account of a sitting US President. How did that affect their business? Where is that account now? They just banned it for another 2 years. You may have forgotten that a section of the house has already asked Nigerians to continue to use Twitter.

Facebook rubbed salt on the injury when they deleted the same tweet government complained about. Please is FB not scared of Nigeria? And why has the government not banned FB?

In my opinion, what we have just done is cheap publicity for Twitter. When government lifts the ban you will see how many people will jump to have accounts, those that did nt even think of opening Twitter before now.

Deleting Buhari's tweet was the climax but wasn't the only offence. Twitter is playing a destabilizing role in Nigeria internal affairs.

Oga shut up! Imagine expecting Twitter to go and register in 195 countries of the World because they have people from every country using it.
Then Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube will register.
Next will be Google and Yahoo. They will now threaten to ban Google if they don't register, and Nigerians will lose their email accounts.
Oga, that's insanity. Nigerians have the freedom to use any website or social media app they deem fit. This is 21st century.
What kind of caves did you and your likes crawl out from? Gosh!

they were never in nigeria market.
We saw the app has good before we used it, if we feel the app is not good we won't have used it.
As long as no advert was made to nigeria or no office. It is stealing to ask for tax from them.you either ask the ask from the people using them but not them. This will kill startup. Come to think of it all country will now say they are meant to pay tax. Because their citizen use them too.
If that is how they started they won't be where they are. More reasons youth find it difficult to succeed in nigeria

The Nigerian government is right on this,
Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp should register as businesses in Nigeria or else they should all be banned,
Nigeria is too big to be disregarded this way.

I hate APC and Buhari but this is a good move.

Freedom coming soon. With this, the Western World would want to support secession since they know majority of online users in Nigeria are Southerners.

Great point!

Internet should only make global business easier and not an avenue for tax evasion.

Without internet, for a USA company to make money on adverts in Nigeria,it must have a branch in Nigeria and pay tax.

Coming of internet should not distort that tax obligation.

pls make a point so that I will understand you. You are commenting nonsense upon nonsense. Anything to put money in the hands of our leaders, fire should engulf it. Whether twitter makes money off Nigeria or not, have you thought of the job opportunities it has granted our people that our worthless FG couldn't give to us? Shame on you!
