In the report it tagged Lagos unsafe security wise.
Me and you as Nigerians know Lagos is the safest city in Nigeria or one of the safest but the report has 'tagged Lagos unsafe' because Nigeria as a whole is a blood pit.

By hard work, countlessly we have seen the efforts of the LASG and it's goal to make the city a Dubai, so it's unfair on their efforts after seeing a report like this.

How the rating is calculated

The liveability score is reached through category weights, which are divided equally into relevant subcategories to ensure that the score covers as many indicators as possible.

Indicators are scored as acceptable, tolerable, uncomfortable, undesirable or intolerable. These are then weighted to produce a rating, where 100 indicates that liveability in a city is ideal and 1 means that it is intolerable.

For qualitative variables, an “EIU rating” is awarded based on the judgment of in-house expert geography analysts and a field correspondent based in each city. For quantitative variables, a rating is calculated based on the relative performance of a location using external data.

CATEGORY 1: Stability (25% of total)

Indicator

Prevalence of petty crime
Prevalence of violent crime
Threat of terror
Threat of military conflict
Threat of civil unrest/conflict

CATEGORY 2: Healthcare (20% of total)

Obvious this was a hatchet job..
There are significantly worse cities to live in..

Now if you say.. National capital, even with that, it doesn't quite make the list.

A little disappointed in The Economist:-- expected a better researched article... might have to thrash them as I did Forbes list

There’s no cities in USA/UK/Canada in most livable cities..

So it’s Australia and New Zealand that are most livable..

It’s a trashy something..

I heard from an expert on radio that this year's ratings were heavily influenced by Covid and lockdowns, that's why Vienna, Austria (which usually tops the list) dropped out of the top 10.

NZ and Australia are considered the countries to have best dealt with covid and remained open while Europe and the US were under very long lockdowns, closed to the outside world and their health systems stretched to the limit.

Their narrative was false unfortunately we are becoming that narrative.

We allow them to control the narrative because we aspire to become like them, wish we had what they have but go about it in the wrong way.

They can mould us into anything even without setting foot on the mother land, this is because our people don't have a mind of theirs.

What do you expect from a state that celebrates touts and give them mobile policemen to secure them. Most yoruba teenagers in Lagos do not want to go to school, learn a skill or work any more. They all want to become touts like their mentor oluomo.
The useless APC govt also do not care about security. All they want is to steal ,steal and steal from the masses. You go to almost every corner in Lagos and you find people sleeping under the bridges, open roads ,uncompleted buildings and even bus terminals built by govt. People come all the way from Chad to Lagos to roam around and sleep anywhere they find. People
The Lagos state govt is so irresponsible that they intentionally sit back, feel so relaxed not bothered about the robbery going on in every part of Lagos on a daily basis. They fo.ol.shly look away to justify the end SARS protest and probably make people feel guilty for protesting against SARS. Infact it's beginning to look like the Lagos state govt intentionally want people to suffer and get robbed. Notice how they claim to be fixing different roads at the same time ,thereby causing traffic jam so that their useless touts can rob people? You will never see any police on sight. Yet the waste tax payers money investing of RRS only for the goats to be roaming around the streets of lekki looking for Yahoo boys to extort instead going on the bridges and roads where these robbers are.
When the useless APC govt is ready, they'll have the RRS flush out the touts and every phucking id.iot sleeping under the bridges and roadside. Why won't they destroy properties when you allow them sleep anywhere they like. How can anybody just wake up, leave their home and travel from a far away distance to come sleep under the bridges and streets all in the name of hustling? The useless nigerian politicians too need to develop their states and the entire country so that people can stay back and enjoy basic amenities that a responsible govt should provide.
Sanwoolu and the yoruba obas and elders really need to start arresting these useless teenage boys who have turned to touts overnight. They should be taken to some far away island to go and work as cheap labour on plantations. You treat them like slaves and lash them with koboko while they work their phucking, lazy as.ses out.
