Seun, I salute you and your effort at making sure Nairaland remains the most important source of information on the Nigerian internet.

However, I think since the last Nairaland update, we've not seen much changes and it's beginning to look antiquated.

So, here are some features that i recommend to be added for nairaland to be in tune with the latest technological trends.

1. Block Feature: I can't begin to state the importance of this feature. Isn't it weird how we cannot block someone from having access to our Nairaland lives?

2. Instagram Videos: I think IG videos should be allowed the same way Youtube videos are allowed such that we can watch the videos on nairaland rather than going to Instagram.

3. Private Messsage: I think the private message feature should be reviewed and reverted to how it used to be. Let's be able to send and receive message on Nairaland rather than going to our emails. Not everyone wants to have their emails revealed when they reply those messages.

4. Integrity system: We need a point based integrity system similar to Reddit.

Please if you have more features that you think is important, please state them. I'll try to remember more.

Please remove the Islamic oath. It's not fair compelling members to agree to a questionable oath before we can make a comment.

Meanwhile anyone can drop a comment on Christian thread without any oath

Come up with a plan to suppress trolls and nuisance accounts.

I think you should also develop market place arm for Nairaland since e-commerce is the in thing now.

Nairaland used to have a classifieds ads listing site called Nairalist, it died a natural death.

We should be able to trim our search for example if you want to search Manchester United one should be able to use a string that will take you straight to comments about Manchester United and not comments about Manchester and comments about United.

Nairaland is a simple machine forum..it is a web based app..so I think for seun to make this changes..he needs to upgrade the SMF...there are new ones bro seun. That has all these features..funny enough I can help out..if you are not carried away by your ego...regards

Nairaland is no longer an SMF. Yes, it used to be and the database is probably still based on SMF but the forum itself is not.
