Present early.
I believe the pain you experienced on that tooth tbat caused it to be removed must have been happening for at least a year before it got worse.
The earlier you present the better the outcome. Maybe you could have done a filling then instead of losing the tooth now.

Cut down on your refined sugar intake. Soft drinks chocolate sweet chewing gum . If you must take them, do that during meal times.

Brush twice a day. Morning and night. The nightly brushing should be immediately before going to bed.

Dont use hard brush. Wisdom toothbrush is a no no.

Visit a dentist twice a year. Every six months.
If youre examined twice a year, this kind of thing will be caught early for prompt treatment that wouldnt result in you losing your tooth.

Teeth are sacred. They are close to the brain and any prolonged infection can be fatal very quickly

to avoid infection, always use salt water to wash your mouth whenever you eat anything

Why suffering your self . Just practice simple oral hygiene . Wash day n night and rinse your mouth after eating anything Used good tooth paste. I use oral pro health though is expensive but it have save me from years of pains and unnecessary money

The best option is to maintain a very high oral hygiene.
You can have hole and live wt it for a very long period without experiencing any pain.
I have 2 holes, one on each of my left and right molars. Another one that gradually keep breaking till it is inside my gum now.
I noticed the first hole around May 2004 the next around 2009.
Up till now, no pain has bn experienced. I maintain strict oral hygiene. Anytime I becomes careless wt it, I will experience temporary pain that will go after a day ot two once I goes back to my normal oral hygiene.

I started filling the holes and it will fall off at a point. and I decided to leave it open like dat.
Whenever I visits my dentist for filling, he will ask me if I experience any pain, I will say no and he will be like, I have not seen this kind of case before ooo. You have this kind of hole, no pain and it is not even widening more, still the same size.

Good oral hygiene is the answer.
Brush at least twice every day.
Don't leave particles of food in the holes, especially at night.
Avoid eating sugary things much and avoid taking it while going to bed.
If u must take it, brush ur teeth well before sleeping.
Rinse ur mouth mouth very well after every meal or after any thing you takes.
Use a good tooth paste, not all those sugary tooth pastes.

Even after extraction and u fail to keep good oral hygiene, you will still experience pains and may continue to extract more.

That's a Pre-Molar though, and not Molar.
