I did refilling to a cracked premolar that caused a severe pain, I had endured the pain for 5months, it cost about 100k for 3 sessions, x-ray was done on each of the session. Temporary filling and then the permanent filing. Even after that, I was told I have to get a cover-like tooth to protect it after 1 year. I had similar experience 2 years ago on a complimentary (right) tooth, the tooth was extracted instead which cost around 75k, if I knew, I would have filled it.
I had thought ots something I could manage with painkillers and after a while it will go away, but no. This part of the world, we would rather apply all sorts than visit a dentist. My teeth used to be one of the strongest in the family, I even boast of opening crates of sodas with my teeth. Today, they are as fragile as anything, sometimes, eating meat is problem.
My advise, whenever you feel any discomfort, whether with your eyes, ears, or tooth, please visit a specialist in that field, it will save you in the future.
My procedures were done in QA, in case you want to know.

I did mine last year. Oh u need to see everyone poking scared like its beheading. I did mine and it was pulled out within 5mins. I felt slight pain. They tod me not to do this do that,after 48hours I disposed the nonsense drugs and gulped one bottle of cold Goldberg.no time to spit. Extraction to me was fun and that pain I felt I would feel,feels like a pin mistakenly piercing your finger for 5secs. Dont let any dentist scare u. Because he has done an extraction doesn't mean other teeth in his mouth will start decaying. Tooth decay (hole in the tooth) doesn't move from one tooth to another. If he maintains good oral hygiene and goes for regular dental check-up, he wouldn't remove any more teeth!

Moreover, extraction is not the only solution to a decayed tooth. You can treat the tooth without extracting it

I started feeling tooth pain some days back and I decided to patronize road side herbal doctor!
Big mistake of my life. The man gave a black polythene bag and he said for saliva, next he brought out toothpicks and started jabbing the bad millard and the surrounding gums.
Before I knew it, I was bleeding from the mouth.
Then the terrible one
He proceeded to rub one kind liquid on a q tip cotton bud, the moment that thing touch my gum! I saw hell, heaven, havana, wahala and valhalla in the same second.
It was acid the bastard used to terminate the stuff eating my tooth.
Since then, (Tuesday) I been nursing myself back to recover from the acid burns, but the tooth ache has also gone.

I couldn't talk for some days because of the pain after extraction,but you tried o, 6 years of pain,I no fit o....you're so damn strong. So sorry about that pain you went through.

Good for you man. Toothache can be something else. No air must enter your ears or you'll go gaga. I've been there.

The day I removed mine, I removed two. The doctor was saying some balderdash that they don't do two at once, I say wetin? Is it your pain? Abegi!

But it's so cheap where you did it. I did mine in Lag more than a decade ago and I paid 8k or so.

Now I'm feeling pains again but removing another is not an option. I use agbo (herbal mixture) instead. I gaggle it in my mouth then throw it out. It's been working.

Man, this post is for me, I woke up to horrible toothache this morning.
I noticed a hole in both of my teeth about 3yrs now, I extracted one and left the other.
The second one was not painful. Apparently, it started getting painful this morning. I now need to get it removed so I can sleep well at night. It's such a bad experience.
