Not too common on our roads, though depends on the engine, I can vouch for the 1.6L MPI engine shared with skoda but the platform has many players touran, beetle, golf mk5 and 6, skoda Octavia. Let's know the configuration of the unit in question

Honestly need 09 rav Vs 07 highlander comparison
Which one should I go for with reasons
Maintenance
Fuel economy
Repair
Part cost
Durability
Thanks

Please i need advise on which to choose between rav4 2005 model and crv 2007 model. All Nigerian used but to be checked by a competent mechanic.

My budget is 1.3M and it's going to be our first car but to be used by wifey. But i want a reliable and maintenance friendly 4 cylinder cuv/suv that will not give her headache and best value for money.

Other choices could be suggested but should be a 4 cylinder SUV due to Naija road.

Budget could be adjusted slightly if need be.

Family man with cargo, highlander you can do the 4cylinder if you need fuel economy.

Starting life Rav 4 would suffice it is more fuel efficient in the 4xylinder category and the V6 is faster than highlander V6.

RAV4 would be cheaper to maintain in the long run.

Both vehicles are almost identical but the CRV is better interior wise and build compared to the RAV4. The K24 in the crv is better but more expensive than the 2az or 1az in the RAV4.

I doubt if 1.3m can get you a good naija used 07 CRV. Probably you meant the 2ndngen CRV which was 02 to 06 model years.

Don't bother, your budget can't get any of the cars in pristine condition.

Really great thread guys.
Been going through the thread looking for my question but nothing thus far.
I am looking to acquire my first car (don't even know how to drive yet) to use in shuffling between school and work
My budget is 1-1.5m and i am just looking for something that wouldn't stress me. If it comes with more options then fine

First, go to a standard driving school and learn how to drive and use the road appropriately.
Then, come back here and ask me personally for a car to get as a first timer.

Life is in stages. You first learn how to sit, then how to crawl, followed by how to stand then finally how to walk.
It’s when you know how to walk that the others like running, jumping, squatting, jogging etc follows.

So, take your driving lessons first, pass and get licensed then getting a first car follows.

Good luck on this your journey.

Thinking of getting a benz in the next few months, a car I hope to use for 2 but not more than 3 years.
Which of this should I get?

2013 W204 C300/350
Or
2015 W205 C300

I hear alot of engine issues with the W205 that's why I was considering a step down to the 3.5L V6 on the W204.

Is it compulsory to use octane booster on both models considering they require premium fuel?

The W205 is turbocharged, so premium fuel is very necessary.

W205 also requires premium fuel, so how do folks in naija that drive W204 manage, do they use octane booster or just run crappy regular naija fuel?

Yes it's a good car. They aren't exactly in the same league. The gs350 compares to the e class while the c300 is what it is, a c class.

In terms of maintenance, I bet it should be about the same. Body parts of the gs350 are on the high side. Bonnet alone is 250k. cheesy
But do not let that scare you cos it's an all wheel drive pleasure on wheels.

I've got one for sale. Send me a mail of send me a chat with the number on my profile.
