And who's the wise man here?

Chimamanda Adichie.

She didn't allow the heat of the moment to cloud her judgement. She carefully and wittingly answered the accusations. She answered as a professional, educated not only by schooling but understanding and experience.

Peace man!

I think she's always trying to prove herself....how good of a writer she is and all that.
All that wasn't necessary to be honest.

It's that time of the month. When women bleed yet don't die, someone else has to experience pain.

Maybe you should have tried to read it.

She doesn't have any issue with transgenders, she only highlighted that a transwoman cannot equate her 'newly found' womanly experience with that of a woman who has lived that experience all her life. I wonder how that equates to hating on trangenders.

JohnBullMySon:
For those who do not know,

Feminists always have an issue with transgenders. It didn't start with Chimamanda.

Did you even read up to five sentences of this article?

That's the problem with our generation - Everyone is too eager to talk, and no one wants to listen.

Did you read the article at all? Or you just read the headlines and that's all it took for your hate to jump out?

Chimamanda Ngọzi-Adichie does not have to prove how good of a writer she is. Anyone with a literary bone in them, will see that she is an exceptional writer, and she writes to address, social ills, not just fictional works.

I have never read any of her books, but everytime I read any of her articles, I am filled with awe, and she inspires any writer to write. She is so good, she can cure writers block.

She has aptly described the ravenous field that social media has become, and blown a trumpet on the increasing lack of humanity in the new generation, and it is something any observant person would have noticed with time. She has elucidated all of that, in simple, but precise sentences that need to be ruminated on, for days.

Chimamanda writes think-pieces, she doesn't just write because she wants to dazzle people. She writes to inspire reflections, and that is, perhaps, what sets her apart from many writers of today.

I dislike the premise of most of her books, I used to wonder why a woman so young wrote books that were traumatic, or better-suited for old people. I may never read any of her books, but you see these articles she writes? I cherish them.

a lot of people on Nairaland do not read, so, they cannot form intellectual opinions on a lot of matters.

This her article has been broken down and analysed, compared to real life situations even, by Twitter users, but you come to Nairaland, and all you are confronted with is juvenile takes, and passive dismissal of brilliance.

Nah, she wasn't trying to prove rights with this one. She was basically talking about how internet people these days are more concerned with looking like angels online, rather than being angels offline, and how loyalty and compassion are hard to find in young people these days. Like I said, that third part is very much useful.

I'm fine, hope you're good too.

Neither was I but I enjoy reading her write-up. She has a good narrative skill.

It takes two to tango. She surely has her faulty side as well.
From her narration, she would love to be addressed as her mentor and her as her protege. She wasn't against it.

I feel initially her feminist stands and ideologies where misinterpreted by Many young ladies, which birthed a new abnormal normal in the modern day society, with most hiding under feminism to sound rude and nasty.

Of recent she has toned down most of feminism talks to advice...I watched a clip she made mention of Ladies hiding under feminism to be nasty...well, it's good she is saying something different in this article...

Yes, I'm good.

Haha that's a good question... the truth is, no trans (male or female) is ever completely changed into the sex which they went for as there remains the presence of those little bits for their former selves, these limitations would always remain and serve as a reminder that they aren't a complete God created version of their new self. To apply it to your question No, they can have the prefix miss, mrs etc of whatever women maybe addressed as but No they cannot be called fully grown men they are more of a hurried experiment.

Until I meet one up close and personal, I might not be able to understand their reasons, I won't judge them until then

He didn't say, "hate." He said, "issues," "having a thing," i.e., clash, disagreements. And rightly so. Nobody should have the right or pass to co-opt womanhood, femininity and our languages. That goes wayyyyy against feminism. You cannot become the opposite sex. It is determined by nature and deeply shaped by culture and socialization. And stating this is not bigotry or phobia.
