Good day nairalanders, these days we have a lot of betting companies in the world, as a Christian do you find this as a sin? some claims even going inside to charge phone is a sin... on my own opinion is not a sin because in life you have to take a risk and what ever we are doing is a gamble..for example the provision store you have,you still looking for gain..you took risk in buying goods of 4000 to sell for 6000 that's gambling. what if it doesn't sell and get spoilt? same as playing game with 100 naira to win 10,000 naira and you lose or win. Please give your own opinion and give a concrete proof from the bible scripture

There is nowhere it is written in the Bible that it's a sin but It can lead to many kinds of sin, and the Bible says you should flee from every appearance of evil.

Only a fool promises to pay the debts of another man. That's exactly what you do when you gamble/bet. Don't be a fool, people are weeping to come out of it. It has wrecked lives, don't lose your life.

1. Tithing is a sin for anyone who believes in Jesus Christ or is not of the blood of Jacob
2. Eating your winning alone is not a sin
3. Loosing is not s sin either.

1. Try to always consider Bible verses in the original context they weree presented so you do not end up injecting your personal delusions into what is written. Luke 16 vs 1 - 13 , tells a different story from what you attempt to twist that one verse into saying here.

2. Gambling has nothing to do with greed. Instead, greed,like other sins, comes from that which is stored up in the hearts of persons - Matthew 15 vs 10 - 20. Not everyone who gambles has greed stored up in their hearts, and not every gamble is born of greed. And since Jesus Christ never declared Gambling a sin - sin is not arbitrarily defined in God's New Covenant Law - therefore gambling isn't a sin.
