Have you ever sit down to thank God for everything, you're just complaining let me tell you at least you can walk some can't, you can see some can't. The bible made us to understand that in everything give thanks. God said he'll never leave us or forsake us. The reason most people lose out of God's promises is because they feel it's taking too long and that's why most people talk shortcuts to success and at the end such people run mad, die e.t.c. All give thanks to God for seeing another day, Only the living can praise God. Some people don't even understands God's plan for their lives, they compare other's time of Shining to theirs, my brother/ sister when its your time to shine you will. Comparison is bad for a Christian and its so bad that it makes you feel like a failure. Joseph went through hell before he became prosperous. Don't ask me when your own time will come It will come at God's appointed time and not your own time. Don't hurry yourself out of Gods plan.

Hanty, if you want to help sb just help them..not telling them to appreciate God in empty stomach. Helping them is where appreciation is drawn.

There is no Law that says, "Thou shalt not whine or complain when frustrated". However, Jesus Christ did declare that it is a sin - against God - to teach the commandments of men in the name of God. So, yeah, it is better to listen to their complaints or stuff your ears than teach lies in the name of God.

As for giving thanks in the name of God, of what good is our thanks to God if it is born of sorrow and disappointment? I believe instead that God desires our honest feedback and none of that religious nonsense that men feed us about being thankful for everything even when there is obviously not much to be thankful for. And don't me started on that bullsheet idea of being thankful for life and idea that has nothing to do with scripture or that which God asked of us.

Look at the difference between the following two Bible translations.
In the first one I give the surrounding Verses to provide the context.

John 5:38-41 (NKJV):
38 But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.
39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.
40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
41 “I do not receive honor from men.
42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.
43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.
44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

Jesus is merely saying that He doesn't need any man's approval, for men are not the ones who determine who He is.
Only God does that.
In Verse 43: "I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me."
Jesus knows the people who He was talking with would think He was complaining about not being approved of.
That why He assured them first (in Verse 41) that He's not seeking anyone's approval.

John 5:41 (ERV): 41 "I don’t want praise from you or any other human."

That is a lie.
Because it's from an inaccurate "modern" translation (the ERV).
And MANY modern versions try to slyly slip in these things, as they try to put lies on Jesus' lips.
