Buhari and co think they're fighting for the rights of their kinsmen not knowing they're making life harder for them.

After 2023, what becomes of these FG backed Fulanis in the middle belt and the south? They have succeeded in making the entire country hate themselves. I really pity Fulanis...

You nailed it big. I pray they didn't elect another fulani as president. They will smell hell

If all these SW state governors know they are not going to implement and effect this law to the fullest, they should please stop disturbing the news. I am skeptical about their resolve to protect the region, seeing their stooge like leaning to the north. I just hope these are not for political ratings. Should these actions stand as what they actually meant to serve, I am expecting a counter action from the north that will, if not, eventually be the end of nigeria, because I know the north is too selfish, and engulfed in its dominating ideology of owning nigeria

Where there is no law, there is no sin
Where there is no sin, there is no law
who is going to enforce the law? The same fulanis control police force? This laws can only be fully enforce when we have state police, that is why that cow in ASO Rock may not assent to state police B4 he leave office

Good, the house of representatives and the Governor of the state are responsible and are the authority of the state, under law.

You are asking who is going to enforce the law? All the men in Nigeria police force Fulani? Has Amotekun seized to exist in SW states?

Continue asking oo

first where are all those Fulanis that had been arrested for various offenses in various SW states that was handed over to police? Have you here any one of them being prosecute? Secondly, amotekun can not prosecute, they can only arrest and hand over anybody arrested to police

The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a bill banning open grazing.

The bill, which was passed at plenary on Thursday, puts offenders at the risk of three years jail term.

Southern governors had during their last meeting in Lagos fixed September as deadline for open grazing practice, a development which has been subject of controversy.

However, few days after the Southern governors meeting, the Ogun assembly passed the Animal Grazing Regulation and Cattle Ranch Establishment Bill 2020 into law.

The lawmakers said this would address incessant clashes between herders and famers.

Long title of the bill reads, “HB No. 045/OG/2021- A Law to Regulate Animal Grazing, Establishment of Cattles Ranches in Designated Grazing Areas of Ogun State and for other Matters incidental thereto and connected therewith.”

The bill scaled the third reading and final passage following the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Agriculture by the Sponsor, Ganiyu Oyedeji, at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo.

Oyedeji, thereafter, moved the motion for the adoption of the report, seconded by Hon. Olusola Adams, and supported by other lawmakers through a voice vote.

The legal framework was later read and adopted clause-by-clause.

Thereafter, the Majority Leader, Yusuf Sheriff, moved the motion for the third reading as it was seconded by Hon Wahab Haruna.

The Clerk of the House and Head of Legislative Services, Deji Adeyemo, took the third reading of the bill before the lawmakers.

Part of a section of the bill prescribed a jail term of not less than three years without the option of fine “including the forfeiture of the herds of cattle or livestock under his/her control to the State Government for anyone who rears, herd or grazes any livestock in any part of the State except within the permitted ranches or anyone who rears cattle or livestock outside the permitted ranches after the commencement of the law.”

Responding, Oluomo directed that the Clerk to prepare a clean copy of the bill for the assent of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

THIS IS A GOOD MOVE.

AT LEAST SOUTHERN GOVERNORS ARE TAKING BOLD STEP TO BRING PEACE TO THEIR LAND.

NIGERIA CAN NOT CONTINUE IN A WAY OF LAWLESSNESS ESPECIALLY BY THE FULANI WHO WANT TO CLAIM THE LAND AND WATER RESOURCES OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE.

No southerner doing business in the north will be bold enough to tresspass into land that belongs to hausas, fulani etc in the core north.

These ABOKI..s will carry poisonous and charm induced dagger to stabbing the SHI...T out of the southerner, if a southerner attempt to encroach on their land for agricultural purposes like farming.

But in the south it is where you find cattle herdsmen moving their cattle lawlessly across farms settlement eating up the crops the farmers had laboured for.

Some of these poor farmers even took bank loans, borrowed money from friends and relatives to buy seedlings and fertilizers to support their farms of which they are expected to pay back borrowed money to the borrower.

Being Proactive is way to go. Atleast they didn't delay till they were influenced to jettison it.

Atleast this will reduce the herders-farmers clash that's ravaging states these days.

BTW apart from the middle belts and the South, is it that other northern states doesn't have this clash? Or are they better managed in those axis?

Most of the northern lands are already grazed. Cattle don't eat every plant they see. Their choice-plants are already decimated in the north which caused their progression southwards

The South East lawmakers are brave, unlike the afonjas in the South West. Reason why they are still stalling on the issue.

So, Ogun state is in South east abi? I don't think you've ever seen a map before o.

SOUTHERN GOVERNORS SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE MEETING THEIR FELLOW GOVERNORS AND BE TAKING BOLD RESOLUTIONS THAT WILL MOVE THE NATION FORWARD.

They should ignore Buhari who is not a good leader for a diverse country like Nigeria.
