Northern Lawmakers Insist Region Must Retain Presidency In 2023 by Nobody: 6:52am On Jul 17, 2021
Northern state legislators have said the North deserves to retain the presidency in 2023 because the South had ruled for 14 years while the north would have ruled for 10 years at the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.

The lawmakers, who assembled in Abuja on the platform of an advocacy for the 2023 presidential ambition of Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, however, asked the governor to intensify his consultation for the top position.

The meeting was attended by four delegates each from 18 states in the northern part of the country.

The convener of the meeting, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Matthew Kolawole, called on the participants to support the 2023 presidential aspiration of Bello.

Kolawole spoke about the youthful energy and requisite cognate experience possessed by Bello, saying they are needed for the development of Nigeria.

The communique of the lawmakers resolved as follows: “That every legislator should go back home with a view to advocating and consulting his or her constituents and stakeholders on the presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello;

“The meeting resolved that Governor Yahaya Bello is competent and indeed has cognate experience for the exalted office, the meeting therefore called on him to consult wider across the country;

“That the meeting reviewed the rotational presidency as advocated recently by the Southern Governors’ Forum;

“However, the northern legislators believe the rotation of the presidency should be in favour of the northern part of the country.

“This is because from 1999, the southern part of the country has ruled the country for 14 years, while the North will be 10 years at the end of the President Buhari’s tenure in 2023"

“That a National Working Committee be constituted with a view to having wider consultation on the Governor Yahaya Bello presidential aspiration across the country.

Fulanis are in panic mode.. Tik tok, times ticking, time for revenge, time for payback ... Fulanis about to cash their savings check with interest and bonus

Just as Abiola defeated Toofa 1993 , Obasanjo defeated Buhari 2003, Goodluck defeated Buhari and Atiku 2011.... Southern candidate would win 2023 easily

Every Fulani's agenda got checkmated

They already cash out by putting 30% Frontier exploration in Northern Basins in the PIB bill while giving 3% to host communities.

North go hail,
This is one of the reasons I was annoyed when I read on paper that Tinubu renovated Arewa building, knowing fully well they dislike him with passion

Unfutunately for them it's the President who is the petroleum minister that would influence who gets awarded the oil exploration contract... Am sure if it happens to be Tinubu , Osinbajo or any of the ACN gang that clinched the Presidency then the contract is going to Southern Company

Hahaha!! Tinubu miscalculated this one this time . All our Apc supporters from the SW, How market ? This should teach we southerners to love ourselves if not we will all be consumed by these wolves from the north . The East is selfish , the SW is selfish ,The SS is selfish . At the end of the day we get nothing but these north we all call illiterate and dirty, are 10 times smarter than us . You guys should continue to enjoy the change you all voted into power and foolishly revoted in 2019.

what kind of low budget script writing is this.
yahaya bello has his ambition no doubt, but to use the headlines of lawmakers supporting a northern presidency is pure false to the point of even agreeing that representatives from 18 northern states including Benue and kwara all endorsing his presidency Is pure junk journalism and am sure no meeting of such happened.
top northern political stakeholders like elrufai, Ali ndume, ganduje and babagana zulum have all agreed that yes its the turn of southern presidency even among the citizens, they believe in southern presidency except ipob who wants northern presidency because they want to laff tinubu and also want eastern presidency because they want to frustrate APC. confused sets..

Bello that couldn't convincingly win a state election is what legislooters are pushing for president. Middle belt (plateau, Benue, abuja kogi....) Is not NORTH OH. even taraba will swing to the south.
POWER IS GOING SOUTH. LET THE POLITICS BEGIN.
BUT
NEVER TINUBU.

Why don't you seat down and watch the game

Even Kogi people won't vote Yeye Bello

You know who is in charge once Buhari finally has the balls to let APC have a National convention

ok oo! Let watch & see. However if that clown ya ya bellow is thrown in the ring then I would rather vote a frail Tinubu instead of that fool called ya ya bello. I don’t like Tinubu oo! But he is better than that clown .
To the people of middle belt . Wait till it time for north to produce the president then you can challenge the Fulanis that it’s ur time . Don’t allow the Fulanis to divide you using that fool called Yaya Bello. He will ever be loyal to the Fulanis & do their biddibg

Referring to the bolded. Oga anytime you are talking about serious politics as it affect all of us ,Abeg don’t use the childish fight that is happening on Nairaland as yardstick to feel the pulse of the south . Pls, this is a faceless forum and you could be taking the comment of a child or a young teenager to heart.
So many children are here and u should be be able to gauge their sense of maturity from the comments they make .
On the other hand ,some are not who they claim to be . They are just here to cause mischief, becos it’s all a game to them .
The fact that their comments can steer up emotions from nairaland , and keep their controversial thread going is what intrigues them the most . Don’t take so many things you read here to heart .

I personally wish the next president would come from the south but it is highly unlikely.

Fulani cannot hand over to someone from the south after destroying Nigeria, especially the south. You sef no go do am if nah you.
