How I Narrowly Escaped Vehicle Impoundment in Lagos by beardedboy(m): 12:13pm On Jul 19, 2021
Today I was driving in Lagos and suddenly I saw the car in front of me make a U-turn. I didn't take it serious then the car in front of me signalled to me to make a U-turn.

Before I could make a U-turn this towing vehicle was already in front of me. As I turned, the next thing I saw is the towing vehicle reversing straight towards my car at high speed. The speed was high enough to crush my car and and even give me and my passenger serious injury.

Thank God, I managed to dodge the towing vehicle.

Firstly, there was nothing to indicate that it's a one-way.

Secondly, this car could have injured me or perhaps killed me and even gotten away with it.

Thirdly, it wasn't even on a highway or expressway. It was on a local street, why put people's lives at risk in enforcing a "crime" that doesn't put people's lives at risk?

Now, I'm wondering:

1. How does the Lagos State Government justify this act?

2. Is this how the Lagos state government impounded all those cars they show on the news?

Lalasticlala, can we get more opinions.

I've Experienced this in other states as well. The traffic officers behave like ambush predators.

They wait for you to bite the bait then jump out of nowhere and pounce on you.

But trying to kill someone for driving against traffic is another level and I've never seen it in another state except Lagos.

Thank God óò. This feels wicked. Risking people's lives for traffic offence. Why? And no road sign sef.

For this asking for Location, it's around Unilag, Yaba.

So happy you escaped it. These idiot.s are given daily targets which they must meet and with the new laws in Lagos they have gotten more violent. My advise is avoid routes you are not familiar with as it's mostly such people that get caught up in this one-way thing. And if you must take such routes be extra careful.

Sadly in your case I can't see how you would have escaped.

You are still yapping english.

Roads without signs that are created to enrich jobless touts.

Just be careful next time. Watch the pattern of cars parked on the street before you drive on. If they are all facing one direction, stop and ask question o.

Try to ask other drivers to know the mistake you made to avoid future occurrence.

May God bless you. And keep you. You were saved by nothing else but the mercies of God. If you are not in Christ please run to him, he is the city of refuge. The days are evil. Satan and all his cohorts are working endlessly and consistently to wear us out. If you are in Christ please walk in him, so you can prove the perfect will of God and save those around you. The time is short.

E no go pass all these local government officials looking for ways to extort people.

I was held one day in one street. They said I passed through one way - imagine in a street. They showed me one tiny signboard indicating it is a one way route. The signboard was hidden behind another signboard. See how multitude jumped at me claiming officials. I am fed up of this country

With every little power Nigerians have, we oppress ourselves.

All uniform men from NA, NPF, FRSC, LASTMA, VIO, etc are all guilty of this nonsense!
The most annoying part is that the real offenders- Danfo and Korope are immune to arrest.
It is only The owners Car observing all the traffic rules that will still be hounded.

How does following one way not put peoples lives at risk?

Besides I was a one way champion until This impoundment and auction ish started

I’ve come to realize it’s all about laziness and impatience else why follow one way
