No one needs your validation you demonic night owl. Anambra international airport is worldclass, I know you are very close to taking sniper, that would be good for you, because we don't care.

Demonic night owl (mktinsight) hear it once again, Anambra international airport is a world class facility and the best airport in Nigeria aside Abuja and Lagos

While the mega airport project is ongoing, our roads in our cities of Awka, Onitsha and most parts of Anambra are being maintained. We don't need your demonic validation to know that Anambra international airport is worldclass. Take back your useless sadistic input.

I was hoping the demon had not taken sniper. grin

Let him wait for the commissioning, more wonders are coming. cheesy

He is talking about 2 avio bridges? How many international airports in Nigeria have avio-bridges apart from Lagos and Abuja? In fact, those that have don't have more than 2 avio bridges. Meanwhile, a second terminal is highly likely in this airport after less than 2 years of operation. I totally enjoy that this airport is killing him grin grin grin grin

What is truly amazing is that Obiano insists on the best quality international airport to bequeath his state!

No shortcuts or shoddy jobs are acceptable!

Truly, this airport should be named Chief Willie Obiano International Passenger/Cargo Airport to thank this great son of Igboland!

God bless Gov. Willie Obiano!

God bless Prof. Charles SOLUDO!

God bless Anambra State!

God bless Nigeria and give her a fair governance structure to save her from her problems!

Truly, the airport deserves to be named after him to thank him for the fantastic job that he did! Like the Imo airport, Akwa Ibom airport etc.

I'm still shocked at how quickly he built this facility and without cutting corners! My state with a budget that is almost 4 times of Anambra's budget took almost 10 years to build one in Asaba. Not to mention that we didn't build a dual-carriage access way, water systems, dedicated power lines, toll gate etc! I still wonder what Uduaghan was doing constructing Asaba airport for the whole 8 years he was in power! Though i still thank him for building it at all. But now that i know it could be done quicker, i have been wondering why it took us 10 years to achieve.

Even if na half flight the airport d handle, no wahala. Leave am like that. Only a fool will be projecting revenue based only on passenger traffic, in a cargo airport and in a state that boasts of numerous international markets, and deal for an MRO already signed.

So for your mumu mind, it's only through the four bridges that passengers can embark or otherwise. Shows you no the near airport.

Meanwhile, if this can exist in London, who are we?
mktinsight:
The Umueri airport is very basic and is not world class as some would like to say. If you want to see world class look at the terminal 3 in the small island of Zanzibar, Tanzania:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uLBNjGivpM

The Umueri airport can handle one flight at a time and reminds me of a small airport I have used in the South West United States. Usually the two boarding gates alternate. One is used for arriving passengers the other for departing and they alternate this way.

Since it takes roughly 2 hours minimum for passengers to board a departing plane it means that within the Nigerian context the terminal can handle 8 flights maximum per day. With the average 737 or a220 carrying less than 180 passengers thats less than 1,500 passengers per day and the terminal is basically no different than Asaba or Enugu domestic with a xapacity of less than 500,000 passengers per year.

It remains to be seen how an airport with 500,000 passengers paying less than 5,000 each in airport revenue can sustain its operations. 2.5 billion in revenue is just not enough for an airport for operations and maintenance no matter how small. Once the euphoria dies down, the state government will be on the hook for over 1 billion in subsidy per year plus the cost of maintaining the access roads and tarmac every 15 years plus assets like fire trucks, generators, air traffic control, etc.

Considering that they are failing to maintain the few tarred roads in Awka and Onitsha they better plan to concession it out or give it to the FGN to run.

I just had to issue this warning especially to those who may fall for these multiplicities of shadowy "real-estate" agents everywhere! My people please, please, please be VERY CAREFUL with these multiple "real-estate" agents everywhere looking for naive people to milk and dupe. ESPECIALLY those of you living in the diaspora or outside Igboland.

I am currently in a huge mess with one of these real-estate people for land that i purchased through them last year. Not all of them are fake, but there are so many fake ones that have suddenly sprung up in the last few months selling "lands" they have not acquired legally from the communities and registered with the government.

It is gruesome now for me to pay a huge sum to the original owners of the land, and then go and register my land with the government after I had already paid a huge sum to the real estate company! Who in fact was just a mere "agent" for the land. But posed as though they had acquired the land and once I paid them, everything was final and one! When in fact, they had no real documents to show they had acquired the land from the community. Thus you pay the "real estate" people and still pay the real cost of the land to the community! Then you go through the battle of putting the land in your name at ACTDA. It can be very very gruesome. Please be careful not to fall into the same trap that I'm currently suffering.

Well sorry for your loss but you didn't carry out adequate due diligence before paying, this is a real estate development company, a registered company with a fixed address, with the proper documentation and title on the land from the government, with other estates located in Abuja, Lagos etc all you need do is ask the proper information and not use a "blanket" statement to confuse people .

Airport should be named after the town that had to give up such a large amount of lands or named after Peter Obi for his sacrifice to Anambra. Why would you build a public project and named it after yourself.

Secondly, passenger traffic is only profitable for airports with international traffic not Nigerias poor domestic airport revenue. Anambra does not need an airport and when the hype dies down the cardinal truth of this will be revealed. Lagos, Ogun with population of almost 30m people do just fine with the Lagos airport but in the same land area with 1/4 of the economy there are four small airports in Owerri Enugu, Asaba and now Umueri. You are writing nonsense. In this day and age, any state that doesn't have an airport is not worthy to stand as a state. They should be merged to other serious states. A state like Ogun should be merged to Lagos while Abia should be merged to Akwa Ibom. Imagine the insults Abia people will be receiving as they keep flying to IMO and Rivers state as if they are orphans. Abia state is a disgrace to Igbo spirit of thriving to always be better.

I said and I will repeat that no normal airport is built and put into operation in less than 2 years and this airport will not be ready before 2022 at the earliest.

Obiano of course is the master of cutting corners and I await all the problems that will arise from fast tracking a project which he is desperate to showcase as his achievement after 8 years of waste and failure. The irony is that he wants to complete an airport in less time than much simpler projects like the township stadium and conference center which as of almost ending July remain far from complete.

Mumu doesn't know some structures are considered critical infrastructure. Even if it doesn't yield revenue, it is very crucial for the people of the state.

That's why in the west people don't migrate to the major cities like you have here. Because what you have in London, you also have in Loughborough.

US agriculture is highly subsidized, because they consider it critical to national security. After subsidizing production, government still buys excess products from farmers and dump in the ocean, if they exceed storage capacity, just to encourage farmers.

So everything is not about profit and loss. But then Anambra airport will be a huge success, because almost all Asaba passengers, half of Enugu and Owerri passengers and international passengers in due course, will make it a hit.

That is multi- million dollars Berlin’s Brandenburg Airport. It has been abandoned for close to 10 years after completion due to error in fire service design. It has just been approved to commence operation.

So if there is any fault with our airport we will correct it easily, at least we can agree that it is small, and so it won't be an issue.

Anambra International Passenger/Cargo Airport Update

Wow!!!

Those still lamenting why Anambra should not have an airport should simply KUA ISI NA WALL!

Whether you like Obiano or not, you cannot deny his burning zeal and determination to take Anambra to the next level. I have been accused of being a Peter Obi agent here because I defended and still defend his records and great achievements. But in comparison to what Obiano has managed to do with even fewer resources, Obiano is a true giant!

For me, It is not a question of who I prefer, it is a question of who did more in the interest of my Anambra state! I will always thank Peter Obi for giving us a technocrat like Obiano. Peter Obi even said it then, that Obiano will do wonders for Anambra if he agrees to serve as governor.

No governor at the twilight of his tenure will continue to work as hard as Obiano to transform his state. Unless he truly loved his state and wished it the best. Consequently, I am totally in support of people who have advocated naming this facility after him eventually as a way of saying "Thank you" for your struggles to give Anambra a befitting international gateway. my plea is that he works hard for a good technocrat that will perform even better than him. So that all these thugs, bandits, and 419 kingpins now calling themselves "businessmen" and masquerading in the hope of using INEC, Police, Supreme court, and rigging to become governor so as to return us to the days of misery, looting and squalor will never smell government house in Jesus name!

For enemies of Anambra especially the one that calls himself an owl, biko quietly kua isi na wall and stop coming here to display your anguish about an airport that is already completed.
