The political chicanery and the orchestrated machinations of some political leaders within the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), to sideline the incumbent Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinabjo (SAN) from contesting the 2023 presidential election because of his positive mien and gentleman inclination to national development has been linked as the basis for the formation of a new group, the Osinbajo Solidarity Movement, OSM, to move forward from the shadows of political hibernation.
 
The leader of the new group, Hon. Adeola Jegede said that, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, (SAN) represents one of the best if we are looking forward to a better country.
 
In a statement made available through the Eastern Nigeria coordinator of the group, Hon. Chibuzor Omehiehukwu said that, Osinbajo Solidarity Movement is an offshoot of a collective decision of men and women both at home and in the Diaspora who are eminently qualified to speak and proffer solutions to the emergence of a new Nigeria where merit counts. He said that the group is poised to inform Nigerians about the huge assets they stand to lose if the vice president was denied an opportunity to showcase his untapped potentials which has been hidden for political arithmetics.
 
“Prof. Osinbajo is a rare and cerebral breed, whose experience over the last few years as number two citizen in the country should not be underestimated. His handling of the economy when uninhibited has always been adjourned excellent, even to the ordinary man on the street," says Chibuzor.
 
The group said, Osinbajo has traversed the length and breadth of the country and found out that his acceptability is not in doubt. We are aware of his political dillemma,  but for the sake of the country, we are urging the Vice President to brace the odds and clear the air on the issue.
 
Chibuzor asked Nigerians to team up with OSM, stressing that, for Nigeria to survive the siege,  we must look beyond poltics of stomach infrastructure, ethnicity, party affiliation and religious basis, but the best man for the job.
 
“Nigerians should see OSM as a vehicle to drive home the best beyond 2023. We need his intellectual charisma and experience, we need his strength and positive outlook, we cannot ignore these characters, that is why we want you to join us to ensure Osinbajo’s presidency is a success, the statement concluded.
