Please I'm an industrial chemistry graduate, with 2nd class lower division..I intend to go for MSc adult nursing but the schools iv seen all require nursing experience which I don't have.
Can I come in with a chemistry course and then switch over to nursing maybe after the ist semester..or are there schools that can admit pple into adult nursing program without experience?

Ya it's a complex field n difficult.. and I believe once the qualification can be acquired in obodo oyibo wey like technology things along side a good work experience man go blow... it's also like a cousin to IT field. when I was in school we did controls systems n manufacturing technology which involved using logic gates, as well as CNC programming.... we use the same concept programmers use to write programs for automation programs but narrowed it down to control of machines... atleast make awa DY/DX NO WASTE

Dats y I said I can still do IT only if I get to be working with it n build up my experience... but without work na to forget am sure pass o

Hi guys , I am about to renew my tier 2 visa but noticed that there was a place where I could include "unmarried partner " in my visa application .I am engaged in Naija and this was done after I had received my visa last year .Will adding this to my current renewal increase the credibility of my marriage by the time I get married to her and present documents to bring her over?
I have also been hearing these rumours about ikoyi registry being the one they accept though I wouldn't want to think that is true.
Should I just still say I m single in this current application and then when I get married later in the year start processing her documents
The Ikoyi thing isn’t correct. You can use any recognized registry.
The unmarried partner option is for those that have been in relationship for two years or more and there’s evidence to support this. They can apply as dependent.
You don’t have to include the person since you don’t need intend for your partner to come via this route.

Kinda noticed that no one is talking about taking a postgraduate course in law as well. What do you mean when you say useless??
TheGuyFromHR:

An MBA hasn't got much value; it's now almost as useless as an LLM for lawyers.
Experience always counts for way more.
Given your husband's current career and associated experience, why doesn't he apply for something in his field or related thereto?

you can "book on hold" then give them a call, and they will give you a naira equivalent to pay, or you pay their offices (if easily accesible and at cost) and you can also do the third party option if you know that no jupiter will make you change your travel plans to avoid being pushed back and forth.

Thank you.

There’s no “Book on hold” option for now for flights departing from Nigeria. But I was able to book through their customer care line. I was given a code to use to pay at GTB.

OladipupoIyowun:

Don't try any 3rd party website for British Airways return ticket if you don't want to regret ever doing such. If you have a Domiciliary account, you can pay with it in USD or simply chat me up for assistance if you can't pay with a Dom account, I might probably be able to help out. My Whatsapp number is +447747 29****

Thanks Chief. I never liked the idea of using 3rd Party to book for Flights.. reason why I wanted to book directly but pay in Naira.

I really appreciate.

In terms of earning power.
An LLM basically adds nothing much to one's earning power.
There are a few good specialisms in the legal field like tax law, governance and compliance, etc.
But investing in an LLM to get in doesn't usually pay off.

Anyone with a generic education can start off in HR, or take a couple of CIPD qualifications if they wish.
This is not to discourage anyone, just to point out that a master's degree in the field does not necessarily confer an advantage.

We'll soon jand. Only a few weeks left. I want to carry some Red/Palm Oil, dried vegetables and medicines.

How best can I pack these so that they will not raise any issues or be removed while being checked in?

All helpful advice from travel experts in the house please?

What ever you do make sure you don’t take anything from someone to bring over, no matter how innocent the item looks.

Seconded though I am not traveling. Going by the various stories in recent times on nairaland, it is definitely a terrible idea.

Best option, let the person send money, you buy the items yourself, then deliver to the person when over there.
NB: My suggested option should be applicable to family members or relatives or close friends. Total strangers, it is at your discretion.

Well, my first degree was in law but I opted for HRM cos I have work experience in that field and i felt twas more viable getting a degree. My interest is basically in the employability aspect, are HR jobs Available in the UK? Is that part of the reason why you wouldn't want to go into the field now?

Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mrcodebreaker: 7:29am On Aug 19, 2021
I am seeing everyone saying jobs in IT this and that. If you think its easy do 10 interviews. You might not even get 1 offer. Lots of jobs means they are going to probably take people from other up companies as their is a lot of job migration going on.

Also have to point out that, for post study visa these companies are offering you 2 years contract instead of full time in order to dodge the sponsorship thing.

So please be careful and look for people successful in your area before venturing into the field. Always good to have a mentor.

Of course jobs are available, the industry sucks up "talent acquisition partners" regularly.
If you've work experience, you're better positioned as experience counts for something.

Well said.
Look at this thing from an employer's standpoint.
The UK government has basically opened the doors to qualified English-speaking people from all around the world to come and live and work here for 2 years after spending their money to obtain a qualification.

They've also opened the doors to young qualified Indians to come in and spend 2 years working separate from the student visa program. India's middle class is anything from 70 million and above, out of a population of 1.2 or 1.3 billion, the number of young people likely to take up the opportunity to try gaining experience in the UK can be roughly extrapolated therefrom.
Same for the Hong Kong Chinese with British overseas passports, English speaking, with an excellent reputation for being diligent and hardworking, and of whom the Home Office says about 40k are already on their way thus far this year, with 300k expected.

The Tories want cheap labour and that's why they're doing this, what they don't want is cheap non-English speaking labour with social security entitlements from the EU.

So in fields not necessarily in demand, if you are an employer in this liberal UK environment of part-time work, hours-contracts and other options (expect more weakening of labour law to come post-Brexit and post-pandemic), the incentive to sponsor is naturally reduced when you consider the apparently inexhaustible supply of qualified labour coming your way for the foreseeable future.

From little research I have done, I believe if its LLM/GDL that allows you to do the Solicitor training course and BPTC course isn't entirely useless, because it allows you to intern and practise here and eventually specialise in those areas.

Most schools don't offer the double edged LLM opportunity so best to choose schools that does.
