Zahra Bayero, daughter of the emir of Bichi in Kano State Nasiru Ado Bayero has officially wedded Yusuf Buhari, son of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The duo were joined at their wedding Fatiha which took place on Friday.

Buhari and his vice Prof Yemi Osinbajo had arrived separately for the wedding. The president arrived via a presidential aircraft while Osinbajo arrived via a helicopter.

Relatives and friends of the couple attended the ceremony. In videos obtained by Igbere TV, women are seen singing as they dance to hiphop music. Yusuf’s sister Zahra Buhari-Indimi was also spotted at the ceremony.

Others who graced the wedding include the couple’s relatives, friends and the daughter of Bauchi State governor Fatima Zahra Bala and her husband.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, and his newly wedded wife also attended the wedding.

Chief of staff to the president Prof Ibrahim Gambari led the presidency team to the wedding.

Those in the delegation include the minister of defence, Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (retd.); minister of agriculture, Sabo Nanono; minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika; minister of water resources, Suleiman Adamu as well as senior presidential spokesman Garba Shehu.

Yusuf, the only male child of the president, met Zahra at the University of Surrey in the UK. Zahra was studying architecture at the time.

Aside from the wedding, Ado-Bayero will be coronated as the new emir of Bichi. He will receive his staff of office from Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
