Let's be realistic, if ipob decided to go on total Lockdown in the south east, most Nigerians won't care because they won't be affected, but if northern farmers decides to go on total food embargo, the whole Nigeria will suffer.

Food stuffs come from the north. Transportation affect food prices. Cameroun and Benin are just beside the south and both were more than willing to fill the void. You want them to ship through sea thereby skyrocketing the price which only makes no economic sense.
Cattle from Botswana or Sudan are more cheaper than what you have down north but we all know who's in charge.
