There’s no aina hate! My guy, in his time at RB for eagles, he has been below average. Not extremely adventurous or great defensively and in the few times that ebuehi has played at RB, ebuehi has been more impressive than Aina. Let’s not deceive ourselves here everyone has a common goal which is for SE to Win
hot trash

The Uyo pitch has been bleached grin cheesy
Some parts no get grass again but it's not as bad as a month or two without football will bring back the grasses back. It's not that bad sha
If you have seen NPFL highlights from Bascoveli you'd have seen the current state of the turf.

They used sand to fill in for dug out grass at half time of matches. The pitch is very playable but it just looks awful on TV.

You must be very MAD! do you think this is 1980? You're playing an away game in an artificial turf with almost half of your first 11 unavailable and saying that a draw will be a bad result?? Personally, I believe that we should aspire and aim to win, but a draw is still acceptable considering the circumstances

You're a very conceited fellow that have refused to grow and learn respect
Let this be the last time u quote me here since you have choose to be disrespectful in passing your points. I didnt even quote u at first

I have follow super eagles long enough to see them beat Ethiopia in their home ground prior then they've not lost for over 20 years during keshi reign....that field was terrible that day

I have watched super eagles beat Zimbabwe in their home ground 3 nil a terrible pitch for a team that haven't lost there for years and then we don't have stars packed like it is now

Winning in artificial turf is possible with the right motivation, strategy and mindset

Like i said if you dont want to be courteous and civil dont quote me again i beg u

Bro considering d factors on ground,me wey b anti-rohr ,if we come out with a draw against cape Verde...den thumbs up to rohr and his team....even with a full house,d result of winning is not dt sure from d onset..let alone of half of d starting eleven not playing, also considering d playing turf.

I am okay with a draw..we can always finish d job with both wins against car and a home win against cape verde cool

You guys claim we have talents and we are one of the best in Africa so why can’t we win Cape Verde with our second team ?

The English team will beat any Cape Verde of Europe with their 2nd team so why can’t we ,abi no be only epl players no go Dey ?

Then I think we are all hyping super eagles here if we will be satisfied with a draw away at Cape Verde

Balogun ,Ekong ,aina ,ndidi ,etebo ,iheanacho and aina ,these are the players who have returned to their clubs according to what I read ,and the last time I checked only ndidi iheanacho and balogun you guys rate so much here so why do feel a draw will be an okay result grin

That subzero's reaction to someone else quote bafffles me,he was no way mentioned in ur opinion.

However,if we r able to come out with a draw,
That wld b a very good result irrespective of our foreign based stars
Some times the league u play don't matter but how good and how compact the team.

Our entire midfield and including 4 of our first team players won't be available .
That will give them a psychological boost to try beat us.
lets just hope we win even with 1 goal margin

You are missing the point.. The concern some of us are having about the game isn't squad strength..Even our third team can beat Cape Verde on a normal day.. The issue here is the pitch in Paria... It's Astro turf...Astro turf isn't a good playing surface for our players because most of them are based in Europe and aren't used to that kind of turf... It is easy to get injured on an astro turf and our players may take it too easy...that would work to Cape Verde advantage since they are well used to their home ground...

Remember when we played Seychelles in Victoria on an astro turf...we won,but couldn't play to our full strength... South Africa asswhopped the same Seychelles 6-0 at home but could only manage a draw in Victoria

Having talents is not enough, but having top quality talents that can compete with the rest of the world .
We don't have such quality anymore .

Of corse we have talents for african standard,
But not good enough for world standard,
But out of patriotism, some will always fail to acknowledge the fact that we r not good enough like we think.or like we use to be.

If not for the bad state of our nation, corruption and all d problems in our country,
Based on the talents we have always have at our disposals over the yrs,
We should be wining AFCON every four yrs ,
Or at least every eight yrs.

Bros, please calm down with the harsh words. Someone doesn't agree with your view doesn't make him mad.

You have a valid point just like the other fellow.

For me, I think we still have enough quality to beat Cape Verde away despite the conditions you just highlighted. I know it won't be an easy game but I still believe we have the quality left to win that game.

The beauty of this team is that we probably have only 2 or 3 standout players. The others can offer almost as much as any first 11 chosen for a match day.

On paper I know this Cape Verde game away is potentially our most difficult in this group but it is also the opportunity to take a 5 point lead against the strongest opposition in the group.
Let's see the team and formation Rohr comes up with.

Even though I expect a win for us, a score draw will not totally be a bad result.

Thank you for this.

Subzero047:

Iheanacho is a great finisher no doubt about that but his general all round play is lacking in that he offers little in keeping possession and helping the midfield off the ball, it seems like a coach should add an extra body in midfield to make up for his lack of activity, that's why he works better in a 3-5-2 than a 4-4-2

Team cohesion is necessary not about having the best players in the world.

70-80% of this squad have been with Rohr at least in the last 3 years.....and have featured in starting 11s in various games and competitions. So, any player can easily fit into any absent player's Position. I don't see team cohesion as much of an issue here.

Everytime I have watched Umar Sadiq he has been class.

For a player just 8 cm shorter than Onuachu, I can't believe the staggering chasm in technique, pace and footwork.

Of all the 106 goals he has scored in his senior career, only 11 were headers. In comparison, 13 of Onuachu's 48 goals for Genk has been headers. Wow!

Almeria's stance is justified.

Sadiq Umar is badly underrated. This is because he struggled in Europe when he was young. He will play for big clubs and win African footballer of the year. He is too technically sound and fits into the modern game.
Roma was right snapping up this 16 year old boy when he was very young. That is what as Roma saw in him
