This country is one of the poorest and unstable country in West Africa.

Thank God a military coup is not possible in Nigeria again

Looking back to the things he will miss. African leaders deserve no dignity because they have used their offices to bring indignity to their people.

The army has the moral right to reset the game if and when the country loses its compass as is the case in Guinea and home!

I'm sure he didn't see this coming. Otherwise he would have disappeared like his Afghan counterpart.

Thanks for the correction.
I meant Ali Bongo's Gabon.
Most people of Gabon still believe that he is an Igbo man

I don't think Gabon's military will attempt another coup after the one of 2019 failed. I would be placing my bet on Togo, the people are already tired and would fully support the military.

No, because the people of Togo are more fixated on the events of Nigeria and Ghana than their personal problems.
Things like this requires pride and self confidence which I am afraid, the people of Togo lack.

Look how humble he has become. I still maintain he should be shot 24 times and hanged in the streets for other intending despot like him to see. Nigerian Army aren't this brave anymore else this should have been replicated here too so that the likes of Femi Adeshina and Garba Sheu can have a taste of what suffering is just as the masses are having it too right now.

Democracy in Africa only favours the people in power and not the citizens. I'm beginning to think those days of military rule were much better than this so called democracy.

The Togolese will prefer migrating to Nigeria or Ghana than to stay and fight back, so you are correct. But I think the growing enlightenment going on in the country will topple their government.

The Togolese don't just care about that.
They are more focused on bridging themselves with Yorubas than that.
The only people I will say a serious enlightenment is going through in their side is Burkina Faso. The people have started glorifying and demifying Thomas Sankara (a legendary coupists) and places things like this happen, many will try to fill into th persons shoes and that shoe is a Coup followed by reforms, indigenisation and self pride

Democracy will always be better Military rule, at least we can question the authorities in a democratic government. Some African countries are enjoying the dividends of democracy, while some are not. What we need are powerful institutions that can't be swayed by those in power, and you will love democracy.

Can a coup save Burkina Faso? They are already plagued with terrorism in some parts of the nation and its fast spreading to other parts of the country. A coup will only give the insurgents the chance to capitalize on the chaos that comes with it.

On another opinion, I think ECOWAS may not allow a second coup in the region after the Mali coup so that it doesn't become a norm. So both Togo and Burkina Faso may not be resetted through coups, if not we would start seeing the rebirth of the mid 60s, and 70s in West Africa again.
