Good analysis,... What about a wanderer who in good faith finds himself around bandit camp and eventually gets rounded up.
It is in lieu of these category of persons that profiling after arrest must be done to avoid unnecessary massacre...
Thus a popular legal saying
" The law would set free 100 criminals than to punish an innocent soul"
Though the above not militarily suitable however just be taken in to consideration.
Hence once those captured are found guilty, they should be handed the death penalty...

grin

These Bandits are mostly residing in the deep forest, thus what a Wanderer doing in the Forest? Hunting? If a Wanderer could mistakenly find himself at Bandits' Camp, then he definitely knows them and possibly dealing with them..... its never a Mistake.

If Gumi is found at Bandits' Camp, he should be sent to heaven along with the Bandits.

U answered the possibility urself... U used "mostly (which could be subjected to argument, but am low on facts on this so let leave it at that)band u mentioned hunting", what about others like wood fetching... Here in the North, it a normal thing to see pple go deep into known forest to fetch woods, pluck some kind of leaves especially the local doctors who make herbs amongst other things ..

It seems u lots already have that aspect of ur visions closed.
Haba... U could imagine just one or two of such possibilities.
That why am against shooting those who surrendered straightforward without trial

Bolton Wanderers!!

Notice I said IN the camp.

Anyone caught on the perimeter should be profiled before any action, of course.

Within the camp and not obviously captive, na only Allah suppose fit save you.

..... then I believe those people fetching woods and leaves in the forest would have come across the Bandits, known their Locations, yet couldn't help Security Agents with Information.

Let's just end the Discourse brother. I understand your Stance, apparently you don't want military to shed blood of innocent Nigerians.

Yes sir.
What u qouted earlier said around the camp, not in the camp... And of course like u mentioned. If caught in the camp one is guilty by association.

its called due process. you just dont execute suspects. that's madness. i agree with you oga. don't mind these guys looking for instant execution. even in developed countries, we've seen innocent people locked up for over 30yrs for crimes they did not commit.
Govt shouldn't go around executing suspects. courts should decide their punishment.

I wish I could chief...but I will like to still be on Nairaland undecided

On a not so classified info tho...any ISWAP vs Boko Haram clash you hear in the news is definitely a DSS FORCE FLAG grin a melodrama to pitch the two sides against the other. The real clash between the two factions you never get to hear in the news. Because we're there finishing off the survivors tongue

Word on marbel: never ever ever joke with the DSS.
They don't trust nobody. Heck, they don't even trust themselves grin the one in my unit always check and recheck the itinerary I gave out.
One morning I woke up and he was gone. I reported MIA. 5 days later I reported it as desertion...as protocol required. I got a signal that I should carry on. Sometimes later, I saw him back in FOB dressed up as a doctor grin going on some clandestine shite. He wanted to apologize for the way he left my unit but I just shush it...I already understand.
I love them DSS ops very smart and brave guys but I fear them cheesy

I know someone, I know very well, I knew he was trained dss, saw him in my barracks we gisted drank beer, later I saw this guy in navy uniform overall, used for menial work he was pictured on a navy ship, I was surprised....later I saw a picture of him on Facebook, he was in the hospital, apparently he had a nasty accident as part of his body was bandaged up, later I saw his posts of him being a pastor....all his. Previous pictures of been dss and training to be dss and on the navy ship were gone.
I know someone that was actually in the navy, one of my pops boys, he retired and joined dss, this guy that made me know one of the dss sites on the mainland, this same guy had a electronic business of making current guards, even made antennas for our TV then, we even still use the electronic safety guard he was manufacturing ....in the navy he was an electronic technician.

Everyone is there bro. Civil defense, Police, and Immigration.
There's hardly any way to differentiate. We all just dress the same and use same gears.

I guess you're a civil organization operative up there yes ?
I tell you a little secret tho may not be so numerically accurate, one in every 30 displaced persons in the IDP is a DSS operative grin

The kind of psychological torture I for give them en grin

For example I go open one live grenade in their presence and throw. It'd explode. Then I'd take a dummy one, call one of them and give and then remove the pin and tell them if he removes his hand they all die. Dem no go see sleep for days grin

Cant understand the suicidal attraction between u & grenades grin

Last time u wanted to golf a live grenade

This time u want to demonstrate throwing of a live grenade as part of a fiendish plan to induce insomnia in bandits

Just make sure your students are behind cover or some of them might not live to see the next phase of ur plan grin

My uncle was KIA by Boko
Have lost soldiers I know who are friends to Boko
My dad and his boys has faced Boko twice on deployment, his horror stories still rings in my ear but still I would never subscribe to summary execution of surrendered Boko or bandits not because am saintly but doing so makes us as a nation same with those vermins..

We should never allow them bring us low to there level..

Your love for intelligence agencies no be today something na, we wey Sabi you back in the days know say Army na side chick, your first love have always being the DSS. You for sha hussle army Intels & leave that sufferhead Infantry corp.
Aside the unnecessary meddling into petty issues/politics, and flagrant disobedience of court orders, bad image in the media due to some of the activities of their over zealous officers I do think to an extent they put up their A-game when called upon.

Good old days boss grin
I didn't choose the infantry...never would have in a million lifetime at that point in time cheesy
I was snatched away on the very last day. Like 10 of us like that. We were scouted all through training. 8 of us now standing cool

On hindsight, I thank God they did that. I don't wanna be the intelligence guys just skulking around at night listening to what the enemies are saying.
I wanna be the boot on the ground who knocked down the enemies door and hang him with his own d!ck tongue
