Let it rise to fifty million. Are you people allergic to civilization and common sense? Imagine fighting tooth and nail to allow open grazing in the 21st century undecided

It's better to buy cow for 2m than to pay 20m ransom to a Fulani bastard

This just goes to show that the current cattle industry is not fit for purpose. New thinking, new ideas and new players are needed to come in and bring this industry into the 21st century. There is no reason in the world, why private individuals across the south can't set up ranches and rear cows using modern techniques. We already do it with chickens and pigs. The Fulani can keep their nomadic practices up north

Every Fulani have a state of origin, they should go back there to graze openly if they don't want to ranch.
Not true! some are not even Nigerians.

Well, only that southern states are not really ready for this. How on earth will one idiot be spewing this thrash in the 21st century? First thing, u guys are not cattle breeders, u are herders, normal cattle attendants. What do u know about cattle breeding? Second, who told u roaming everywhere with ur stocks is the best way to feed them? Cattle are best reared in confinement, that's the only way u can have a better Feed Conversion Ratio. Ur animals convert what they consume to weight gain better when they are confined. Third, raising horned cattle in today's world is crazy, even if u want to raise White Fulani breed of cattle, they have to be dehorned (polled animals). Many things have to be put right if we are to move forward.

They should give the south 1year after that. They will be so shocked at the innovative ranching that will spring up around here.

saferoom:
When Cow door closes Chicken door opens.
Besides, they will be shocked with a rude shock that some innovative disruptors would finally solve the beef debacle

And when you come to think of the fact that the beef around which all this brouhaha is centred is the most unhealthy of all animal proteins is just mind boggling.

I think Nigerians are missing a great opportunity to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Just cut down on the damn thing and let the industry just die a natural death.

For me its down to just a couple of nuggets, a few paltry grams of red meat a week and within the next year red meat will be gone from my diet forever.

I just cannot see what benefits the rearing of cattle brings to this country.
