Hello everyone, many thanks to the person behind this thread. I have gone through the messages and I think I have found a home. Design is complex so we all need one another. I'm not new in design but still learning. For now I can design simple logos. I'm interested in HNG. How do I go about it?

Yea. Design is complex, design is difficult, design is hard, but that's what makes design fun.

For HNG, you'd have to go beyond logos and start learning about Product design. HNG is not so much for beginners, but anyone can go into it, if you can learn fast

That's fine.

Buh you should know that you don't need to be a perfect logo designer to become a product designer.

Infact, they both have transferable skills and employ the same basic principles of design, like golden ratios, rule of thirds, gestalt principles, movement, balance and the like...

I don't knw what you mean by the mock up thing. But imo, mock ups is a way to present your prototype, like as you see in this my first mobile design.

Don't bother yourself,make do with what you have. You'd be using figma (an online tool) most of the time, so It won't require much processing power like it would be required if it was offline.

Use pending when you can get a better one coz at one point in time you might want jump in and out of photoshop, illustrator etc.

I'd like to ask ehn, we all know designers collaborate a lot. And if I ask how, I'll get through design systems and style guides.

But I really want to know how designers work on one particular figma file together? How do they do it? Won't the designs come out differently?

the Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman

I'm currently reading UX Fundamentals and Principles for Non-UX Professionals this month.

You can also suggest other good books in Design

I'll try to keep it short as possible.

Depending on the brand you are working for, there's something called color psychology, you cant use red for a banking sector and expect people to trust you and like green now denotes life, fertility. etc

read on color psychology and how the color wheel operates, the complementary colors, analogous, triads, etc it will help you when you want to combine them.

first have a base color that defines the brand, then, have like two other colors that goes with it, could be triads. it will be much easier like that.

there will be a base color, a mid one and an accent color, for a start anyway.

then if the brands have their own color, good for you, just find colors that compliments it, you can use Adobe color (a site) to pick colors too.

Colour psychology is key for a designer

Then the aspect of having a base colour is really cool and then for Adobe colour, I recommend it too, I sometimes use it when I'm stuck

Used to be amazed at how my Boss (graphic design tho') used to combine colours, but these days, I'm usually less surprised (although I still respect his works)
