I phone 6 no longer supports "ORDINARY" whatsapp and you are going for iphone 7 that barely scale through?
Maybe next year iphone 7 wont be supported too.

The only iPhone that WhatsApp will stop working on is iPhone 4 as it doesn't support iOS 10. WhatsApp will continue working on any iPhone running iOS 10 and above.

This is advice from a person that want to buy an iPhone,get the Samsung,your only real problem with it would be the super expensive screen replacement if you break your screen

What do you mean by ‘running around to upgrade it’? Everyone knows that Apple offers the easiest and most seamless OTA(Over The Air) update in the smartphone industry. You can update your iOS from the comfort of your bed or while sitting in the toilet without any issues.

In a way yes. iOS OTA is so easy that you don’t need to be a geek to do it. Just have a reliable WiFi or 4G/LTE connection and you are good to go. You can even setup your iPhone to update automatically.

Not all Android devices receive OTA updates sir. I wouldn’t want to start mentioning any particular brand, you may have to do a little research.

OP why are u going for old phones, almost 6 years old iphone and 4 years old Samsung?
You can use the same money to buy latest midrange phone from less expensive but quality brands. Don't be surprised that today's midrange might be much more powerful and capable than those ancient phones u want to buy.
