Super Eagles' results at the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers isn't a surprise to their die hard supporters.

They have won their first two games and scored four goals in the process. That’l's an average of over two goals per game.

Nigeria being top is not a shock either, they have established themselves as one of the best teams behind Algeria in Africa.



What has been a revelation is how Super Eagles have gone about their excellent run in Group C. They have transformed to free-flowing, counter-attacking and dominant side under Gernot Rohr.

Players like William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina, Jamilu Collins and Shehu Abdullahi are not household names, but excellent building blocks.



Rohr's 4-2-3-1 has been used to solidify their position. It hasn't always attractive, but effective.

With Balogun, Semi Ajayi and Omeruo, they have experience and strength.

Kelechi Iheanacho is Nigeria's World Cup Qualification topscorer with two goals, followed by Victor Osimhen who has one.



Rohr has worked hard to regain the defensive strength of the Super Eagles. Each player knows his role and where he needs to be.

For me, I am still not pleased with their level of play especially considering the quality in that team. Not also ruling out the adverse effects of the quality of pitches in both games. They really need to build up their performance going into the final and round of qualifiers.

Whether own goal or not, rohr wouldn't have drawn that match... Rohr don't draw against Africa's small small boys in qualifiers away. Sierra Leone were psyched up after their 4-4 draw ...any how any how mistake will make them Sha commit a penalty offence or even they will score themselves...so baba them try

The role of good Home-based professionals in our National teams cannot be overemphasized.

Before the introduction of Monday Gift yesterday the Falcons were uninteresting to watch whenever they are in the final third.

The midfielders struggled a lot, unlike the defense that stood like the rock of Gibraltar.

Glasgow Celtic center back Osaze Urhoghide has revealed that he would be honoured to play international football for three-time African champions Nigeria.

He was born in the Netherlands to Nigerian parents twenty one years ago and is also eligible for England having lived in the country for roughly fifteen years.

Of all the countries Urhoghide qualifies to represent, the Nigeria Football Federation have made the first step to cap him by inviting him to a Nigeria U23 training camp before the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya in 2019.

In a question and answer session with his fans, the center half was asked if he would play for Nigeria and he replied : "Personally it would be an honour to play for Nigeria. International football is something that I'm working towards and hopefully in the near future I can play for them.

"I've got some options Nigeria, Netherlands, England as well so there are some options so I'm working towards that.

"It is one of my goals as well so hopefully in the near future I'll achieve it."

Urhoghide admits to being a boyhood Chelsea fan because his Nigerian father supports the Stamford Bridge outfit.

"Growing up I've always supported Chelsea. I lived in West London, my dad supports Chelsea.

"I'm not sure why I chose to pick Chelsea but probably because my dad supported them but the teams I've stayed with as well, supported them being with the highs and lows but it's always been Chelsea"

Since his celebrated move to Celtic from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer transfer window, Urhoghide has made one competitive appearance for the Hoops and it was for their B team in a SPFL Trust Trophy clash against Morton on September 4.
