That ought to have been a penalty and red card. That's my opinion and that of the majority of pundits in the UK I have heard on that matter.

Any pundit saying it is a penalty is just being biased and insincere.

The referee earlier gave a penalty and a red card. It took VAR and the referee going to the screen and watching it multiple times to agree it was not a penalty.

Walker did not touch Armstrong. Armstrong kicked Walker. So tell me how it is a penalty.

Don't just say it is a penalty. Tell us why you think it is a penalty.

Yes Kyle Walker got in front of him but that was all he got right, the other player managed to get his leg in front of him and Kyle Walker kicked him and the rule of cutting across is that you have to take the ball, like I said under a stricter ref that was a clear pen

https://twitter.com/haseeb1986/status/1439250804175740931?s=19

Did you actually watch what you posted? At what time did Walker kick Armstrong?

Amazing defending. The person that is writing that should explain how it is a penalty.

Are you trying to say that Armstrong kicked Walker grin even with the heaviest of biases that would be a reach

Watch the video. As Armstrong was going down his feet made contact on Walker while Walker was in front of him.

Now tell me where you saw Walker kick Armstrong.

Walker raised his feet to cut off and landed on Armstrong's feet grin, clear pen

Very funny.

Armstrong already made a contact with Walker before the landing.

So you are totally off point if you are talking of landing.

Iwobi needs a stronger half.

Richarlison, Calvert Lewin, James Rodriguez all out. Needs to give the manager an headache.

if the defending is against City, it's sure gonna be a penalty, and Joe will support the ref decision,

since its for them, it's classic defending to him

usually they let it grow completly before they start cutting the grass. In my opinion they pitch will soon get ready, but they should not use it the coming international window, may be the upper one.

First pic is the pitch 3weekw ago still had not been cut

Second pic yesterday they are leveling it

Well..There's no need to rush it..

I just feel that it's about time the super eagles had a more permanent home ground...
Either Lagos or Abuja should be it...

And the government for the love of God,should handover these stadiums to private individuals to manage...

Super Eagles shouldn't have a particular stadium as a permanent home, the team should rotate between the Uyo, Lagos and Abuja stadia, that is when the Abuja stadium is completely renovated. No be only Lagos and Abuja get better stadium and no be only those two places be Nigeria.

We av said it countless times on dis thread dt not all call ups for national teams duty is based purely on club performance/status..some re non football reasons. A case study is garba lawal..he earned call ups under all d coaches he played under simply because of his discipline on and off d pitch(early to report to camp, good squad player;utility wise, diligence etc)

Baba earn call up so tey dem put (Mr) garba lawal(during 06 tourney grin) for him name

This is serious obstruction. How are you supposed to continue running with a leg across your thighs. Looks like there’s some contact on the knee before he goes down but even if there isn’t just trying to adjust your stride and keep the ball will bring you down and it’s not like Walker has the right to do that.

Saints robbed of 3 points really...

you can say that again

but our blue fonter is calling it classic defending, cos it's favour them,

if it were a saint defender am sure it will be a penalty, and our man will support it

That's because Uyo has the best stadium in Nigeria outside of Abuja and has also been the home of the Super Eagles when the stadia at Lagos and Abuja were bad.

By your frame one, Armstrong was already falling down with no contact on Walker. At Frame 2, still no contact. At Frame three, the falling Armstrong made the contact with Walker.

That angle you are looking at will not show you the full frame. If you use the angle from VAR, you will see that Armstrong was falling before the contact with Walker and he, Armstrong hit Walker and not the other way around.

Look at Frame two, whose leg is in front and who leg is behind. Look at Armstrong movement. He is going forward and hit Walker. So how can you say Walker took him out?

By frame two, Armstrong was moving to hit a Walker's leg in front of him. By frame three, he hit Walker. So no penalty in any way.

Walker got in front of Armstrong to stop him. It is called defending. Getting in front without touching the player. Armstrong lounged for the ball and hit Walker's leg in front of him. No knee contact. Walker did not take him down. So how can that be a penalty to you?
