Chris Rock tests positive for COVID-19 and urges fans to get the vaccine

The 56-year-old entertainer, who also acts, announced the news on Twitter and has previously encouraged his followers to get vaccinated against the virus.

American actor and stand-up comedian Chris Rock has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 56-year-old entertainer announced the news on Twitter and urged his followers to get vaccinated against the virus.

"Hey guys I just found out I have COVID, trust me you don't want this. Get vaccinated," he told his 5.2 million followers.

The Spiral actor said he received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

He has previously encouraged his followers to get the jab when offered.


Back in January, he told Gayle King during a CBS Sunday Morning interview: "Let me put it this way. Do I take Tylenol when I get a headache? Yes. Do I know what's in Tylenol? I don't know what's in Tylenol. I just know my headache is gone.


"Do I know what's in a Big Mac, Gayle? No. I just know it's delicious."

US President Joe Biden announced new vaccine requirements earlier this month, and criticised the approximately 80 million Americans who had not come forward for the jab at that time.

All employers with more than 100 staff must require them to get the jab or test for the virus weekly, in a move that aims to boost vaccine uptake and curb the highly infectious Delta variant.

Meanwhile, an influential US government advisory panel has rejected plans to give COVID-19 booster jabs to most Americans - only backing them for people aged 65 and over, and those at high risk of severe disease.

The decisions were made by a committee of experts who advise the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and deliver a huge blow to the Biden administration.

My respect for Nicki Minaj increased when she started challenging this America govt why they should make a vaccine mandatory when the the people that got the vaccine are still coming down with covid

What happened to freedom of rights. There is something about that covid vaccine. Imagine this selfish wicked Nigerian government threatening that Nigerians get the vaccine....... but the same government hoarded palliatives wickedly during lockdown when people were starving to death!!

The other day , a colleague clearly had COVID-19 and didn't believe it , trust his wife to kick him out of the house till he got tested and it was COVID-19 and the stupid dude was asthmatic o.
He almost lost his life to covid and the wicked part of people is even with the knowledge he had COVID-19, he kept coming to the office - very wicked person.

How will a vaccine cause swelling of the testicles? Agreed she isn't in the medical field but at least do some research before posting rubbish. If this was true how come this isn't widespread. Any medical profession will know this is a case of a preexisting condition and not because of the vaccine.

Answers to these questions are all online. They are desperate because of the rate viruses mutate. Even if the vaccine works 100% now, these mutations from those unvaccinated will eventually create a new strain of the virus that the 100% working vaccine can't stop. Hence why boosters will be needed for those new strains. So you see it will be a vicious cycle, even if they get the new strain under control, a new one could still emerge as it keeps infecting more people.

Covid is not a fun experience even if it doesn't kill you. The current vaccines are somewhat effective against the first few strains but new strains are formed constantly like the delta variant which the antibodies the vaccine gives you can't stop. That's why it's difficult to get a vaccine that works 100%. But the thing is those antibodies your body makes due to the vaccine you took will reduce the intensity of the symptoms you get even if the new strain gets you.

The question we should be asking government why didn’t they force us to collect Convid19 palliative during lockdown the way they’re trying to compel us to take the vaccines? Even if the rest of the world care about their citizens here in Nigeria government doesn’t care about you and I, except there’s an agenda they’re trying to push
