I still remembered the day he died and everybody was jubilating, i have never seen a situation where a whole nation will be jubilating over the death of their president

Happy birthday sir
You are a real patriot
You deserve all the awards
For being the savior in times like this
Without you our borrowing would have been getting to high heavens and with you our lenders are sure that you will be there when they come calling

Thank you sir

I CAN SEE AL MUSTAPHA IN THE BACKGROUND.

He was the Chief Security Officer to the Head of State then.

Late General Abacha plundered Nigeria financially.

Now Nigeria is looking for every kobo to sustain its wasteful spending.

If he want to deal with Ipob, Boko Haram, iswap he will not be fretting like a Cockerel like Buhari and Lai Mohammed are doing. He will just kill their leaders, televise their obituary, express his condolences and won't care what international media think

Abacha, you're remembered for the introduction of structural adjustment program (SAP), which was the beginning of the downfall of Naira!
Abacha? Stop saying what you do not know. SAP was introduced by Olu Falaeb in 1987 under the regime of IBB. He was the minister of Finance.

Dear Indomie Generation,

Most times I am just an observer on this forum but I must make a point of correction here as well as give you some advice.

Always learn from history and never assume you know it all.
. For those who failed to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

It was IBB that introduced the Structural Adjustment Program in 1986 (which was a precondition for getting a loan from the World Bank).

SAP was merely a continuum of Shagari's "Austerity Measures".... a policy centred on cutting back expenditure which, in hindsight, eventually yielded nothing.

IBB was also responsible for the initiation of the free fall of the Naira by introducing SFEM in '88/'89.

That was when the parallel market aka Black market aka BDC aka "Aboki, I wan sell dollar" began.

Indomie Generation, my generation failed you. The onus lies on you to rectify the mistakes of my generation and make Nigeria a better place for generations to come.

And to do that, you must first learn where the previous generation got it wrong. You are our last hope.

What is keeping this country together is that you guys are not as tribalistic as we were. If not, we would have gone to war a long time ago.

Signed:
An Old Man that wants things to be better again

Abacha did not introduce SAP. Structural Adjustment Program was introduced by Babangida with Olu Falae as the minister of finance.

He would have been president if he was alive today.
All military admin looted this country and he is the only villain because most others came back to cover their ass.
If buhari with all his attrocities during military era can come back to rule then abacha too could.

Abacha was a dictator though, but he wasn't extremely religious and tribalistic like Buhari.

Better than Buhari for some reasons.

Don't be. The Mossad are that good.

You would be surprised how many Israeli agents are working for Hamas in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.

They are not Jews but Arabs. Some are coerced into it while others do it for the money.

Abach was a dictator though, but the Nigeria economy was good in his rule. He wasn't extremely religious and tribalistic like Buhari. Better than Buhari for many reasons. Few weeks before Abacha died suddenly, he was about gifting all the traditional rulers in South East a car, including my late dad.

Buhari can't ever promise that instead of doing it.

You are praising Abacha for his proposed car gift, a Trojan horse if I must say. Something that was intended to buy Nigeria. Abacha was on his mission of transiting himself to civiliian president. A move that would have turned him to a life president like we have in many African countries. God know why he took Abacha away.

Nigeria didn't borrow any dollar under Abacha.

Abacha refused to be a travelling head of state.

Abacha created 7 states including Bayelsa state.

Nigerian economy was better then, despite sanctions by International Communities.

Nigeria won nation cup in 2004 under Abacha, and participated in senior world cup in same 2004.

Nigeria also won 2006 Olympic cup in Atlanta Georgia.

Tribalism of today is not as bad as it was in the '70s/'80.

The generation of today were taught to hate other tribes by my generation.

The same way my parents taught me to mistrust people from other tribes.

Nigeria is more polarized now than before. But this generation seems wiser.

Back in those days inter-tribal marriages were not as common as they are now.

We will get by (as usual) but Nigeria should be better than this.

Abacha was not the one that introduced Structural Adjustment Programe, rather it was Babangida. precisely in 1986, i witnessed it, the effect on economy was so bad.

As bad as people claim abacha was, the economy under him was far better than it is with buhari.

This I have seen.

That is because things had not gone this bad when he started. But he sure left it worst than he met it. The collosal humongous monumental damage he did contributed to the downward spin of the fortunes of this fiscal nation, contributing significantly to getting the country to the abyss it is today
