Everybody wants to blame the players but what about the coach? Seems like u people still don't want to face the truth.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 2:51am On Sep 22, 2021
There was a moment in the game when Uchenna Kanu had the chance to pass to Oshoala (I think) and put her through on goal, but Kanu chose instead to try to dribble a SA defender.
Then the defender successfully robbed her of the ball angry

I was so incensed as to how a supposed senior player lacked basic soccer intelligence
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 3:04am On Sep 22, 2021
Ebi has worked extremely hard and she has been a faithful servant. She has been our most dependable CB for years and more than deserves to earn her 100th cap. She stays, in my opinion. Zogg, Plumptre, Demehin, Okeke and the likes can all learn a thing or two from her.

Regarding NWSL, there were several players from Rivers Angels that were good enough to be in the mix, but were at the U20 camp - Tosin Demehin, Mary Saiki and Debbie Abiodun come to mind. Maryann Ezenagu is another one that should be in the mix.

Patricia George certainly needs time to heal - her injury was a very serious one and we need to be patient with her. In terms of quickness, I will still believe the fastest of the bunch is Nicole Payne of WVU. That girl sprints for her college and is pretty fast. On the whole, we do have a dearth of midfielders and full backs. We need to scout - there are players in Nigeria, Europe and the US that need to be reached out to. Elish Sulola and Rinsola Babajide are two players we need to aggressively go after. There are a TON of players out there that can be Super Falcons if we seriously go after them.

Player availability WILL always be a problem for a team like Nigeria. Happens in the men's team also. Good thing is our player pool has to be big enough to absorb any of those kind of shocks. That is what Randy is doing (that is why a country like the US will always be in the top 5 countries of the world).
Schemerkhiz:

I think Onome Ebi is already at 90+ Caps..
38yrs nor easy, a younger CB can come in immediately..

Time to Scout in from the NWFL....

My greatest pain right now is the injury to Patricia George at the wrong time, she's another quality option as a Full back or a Winger, Skillful, Strong and very fast.. I bet non of our current Defenders are as quick or skillful as her.. Just hope she recovers fully before next month.

Our major problem is getting quality full backs and Midfielders..

One Major problem we have been having of recent is the availability of the Players.. one issue or the other might deny them the chance of coming around...
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 3:14am On Sep 22, 2021
That seems to be common place across the line with our Falcons - Oshoala, Ordega in particular, Oparanozie, Okobi and a host of others are guilty of that. Their default move is to first dribble, when a simple pass would be the most logical option.
Randy had a lot of work to do in coaching that out of them. South Africa seems to be well ahead of us in that regard.

You are on point sir.

That’s why the likes of Iniesta and Xavi will always be reverted by true football analysts because they are the very definition of football efficiency. They only attempt to dribble when it’s absolutely necessary; and their passes almost always come in the right weight and angle for the attacker

I do not know why Chinwendu Ihezuo is simply not popular with the coaches. She does not play all the unnecessary fanciful plays, unless she is rusty now, I think this is the time to allow her into the attack and ease off Oparanozie and Ordega. She is experienced enough (She was in the 2014 and 2016 Under 20)

Regina Otu 25yrs should be our Defensive Midfielder henceforth, she's more than Capable and hope she moves to a tougher league Soon..

Thank Goodness Halimatu Ayinde has started minor work out... She should be fully back by early next year but we still need someone to play that spot for now...

Tony Payne holds that attacking Midfield role..

The rest can come in as Back up...

One Major problem we have been having of recent is the availability of the Players.. one issue or the other might deny them the chance of coming around...

My question is that is the coach aware that this team needs a major overhaul..
Or he's still wants to force a miracle with theses old mama's..
Well I agree availability of our foreign based players is a concern..

Has anybody seen the NFF press release?

(They've now retracted that release and issued another one, but it's too late. It was sent to journalists around the world).

Oparanozie alone cannot be blamed. Oshoala, Okobi, Chikwelu as well. Alozie should be moved away from the right back and tried in the midfield.

Aside from that NFF don't just like her

It's not even about that. Journalists can blame individual players, but this kind of nonsense should not come from a football federation. Even if a player has underperformed, you should deal with it internally. They shouldn't be issuing this kind of press statement at all.

I suspect that this has more to do with the protest during the 2019 World Cup and the attempt to freeze her out of the team than anything else. It seems they were stupidly trying to convince the fans that they were right to freeze her out of the team, but they later retracted the statement when they realised how stupid it was.

Especially at Center Back..

Osinachi Ohale still have at least 5 years more to go with the Superfalcons..

Nicole Payne is quick but she isn't close to Patricia George. George was even more versatile from High School down to the Pro she is now she played as positions on the field except as a Goalkeeper.. The only position she didn't play much was the Midfield but the rest she played them well as she used to be a Sprinter before (did track and field, Cross Country), played basketball and also tried out boxing on few occasions..

According to Patty mum she said when George was much smaller she was so scared of her daughter against her mates because she was too strong and fast to the extent that she's always praying that her daughter doesn't hurt any of her mates and opponents whenever they're playing...

You can check both of them out.

With the caliber of Oshoala....

Its disheartening to know she was strolling

Not even a shot on target in 2 games

Intact Rivers angels would have done better... Of course the 2 angels girls scored all the 4 goals

The whole team, most especially the big names played rubbish in the First half but they hung up Oparanozie to dry...

With Sincerity Regina Otu is the most impressive player, with the additional of Vivian Ikechukwu and Monday Gift..

Going by Experience and number of Caps Onome Ebi, Faith Ikidi, Rita Chikwelu and Osinachi Ohale are supposed to be in position for that...

Since Asisat Oshoala became Captain I haven't seen any impact from her in the team..
If not for the Ageing (Sluggish and can no longer meet up with the pace of the modern game) Onome Ebi and Rita Chikwelu they're still more impactful than Asisat Oshoala she hasn't really offered anything of recent.

Did you guys see how Regina Otu cleaned up the mess in the Midfield yesterday? She gave life to that dead Midfield with her ball wining abilities, passing and covering ground for her team mate...

Regina Otu, Halimatu Ayinde and Tony Payne won't be a Bad idea...

Uchenna Kanu is good but i somehow see her as a better player for the Superfalcons when she comes in as a Substitute...

Not everyone is versatile...move her to her natural position, she will basically struggle with most african teams as it stand,as they are very physical and quick, remember she had a lot of issues with that malian girl too,she might even have been sent off in the first half, imagine if we meet zambia and she is our right back...they should move her to her position or something, i do not even know her position, before it starts to mess with her confidence.
