I complained about this same thing recently. Some of those book are not even relevant. Come to my house and see piles of books. I mean used ones.

The problem is ,I don't have the culture of destroying books.

Yesterday I went to admit my younger neice into JJS2...men,you need to set the high level of corruption . Imagine after collecting numbers and being on a queue for more than 4 hours,and the teachers were busy bringing their people from outside regardless of the numbers they shared initially....

At the end,they collected several bribes,but the good news is that they later admitted him..

If you think education is expensive try ignorance..my papa try oo..back in the days every beginning of term we go Drive go learners bookshop or the other one I don forget the name go buy the entire list until money finish towards pry 6. I change enta public with God sent teachers who yan us say make we no look down on ourselves say everybody get one head. Buy God dey faithful sha we commot with MBBS. BUT pop c no dey witness am..Malle dey sha ..God Bless every parent out there you are the real MVP.

education in Nigeria is just to know how to read and write,then learn handwork....all d graduate na only English speaking mechant Dem be!

For what? We the fight that on out oo.. I told them I used my elder brothers books till I finished secondary school back in the days. It was very interesting because he already highlighted key points.

The truth is most people just send their children to private school out of peer pressure and hyping of better future.
Not knowing that, in reality if you send your children to public school, coupled with your personal discipline and extra lessons I can assure you, your kid will do excellently better and outshine private schooled kids anywhere.
You just need personal training and grooming for your kid.
I'm speaking from personal experience.

These are the books used to these days. I believe some schools inflate the prices because they deal with the publishers directly unlike before. Also, in those days na 1 text book a whole family Dey use and pass down to younger ones, these days they ensure the kids write inside the text book so no other child can use it, hence more spending

Op, don't blame the school. Books are now very expensive in the market. If u enter market go buy urself, na dat time u go know.
