He shud tell the father. Which one is will you want to be told undecided.

I said this on the premise that his father is 76years old and probably has a weak heart (thus that's why the OP is skeptical about telling him directly)... Read the thread again, the OP hinted on the above

Now the question I asked the OP is thus:
If you were a 76year old man with a weak heart, would you want to be told that the child you've spent your resources growing is not your child??

I hope you understand the premise now?

Am just afraid...
What if i tell him and got heart-break and die... He's 76 plus
it is better dead that training a child who you thought is your child , that is actually not yours.
The truth will not kill him, the truth will only set him free.

Let the dad confirm his suspicion. Dads may suspect but won't really know. How many dads of 76 do paternity test just for fun? When did paternity test even become more popular and affordable?

Nope.
I was told by his own friend.
How sure is this so called friend? Did he conduct a DNA or is the friend the actual father of the son in question? Questions!

There is one thing that is going on around the world now…… it is called “MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS”

I don’t know why you put another man’s problem on your head. Leave your dad and the poor boy alone. Since you are now Medical/DNA expert I will advise you to find out if you are truly your dad’s son before you expose both your stepmom and your mom.
Re: Should I Tell My Dad That My Step-brother Is Not His Son ? by Nijaghana: 3:51pm On Oct 14, 2021
If u decide not to tell ur father before he pass away, what impart do you think the news will have in your heart everytime you see him, your conscious will never be at rest oo.
Your father meant not know anything concerning the paternity of the child, I will ask you some questions
How old is the said boy
Is your father and step mum still together
how your very related to the boy
Brother you are trying to release a time bomb and you know what a time bomb can do.
First I will tell u, your father friend that break the news to you and advice u to tell your father might be the biological father to that boy and he want his son back.
Secondly before you tell your father make a diligent investigation to be very sure because ehhh. I will give u some advice if u will take it
Don't worry yourself concerning the issue, go back to your father friend with a recorded device and begin to question him with wisdom concerning the issue of the boy because before e said it, he might know everything and record all your conversation.
Secondly, if u can discussed it with the boy with the recorded evidence then you and him will come to a conclusion and let the boy throw the bomb first to the mother and the party involved will start fighting themselve, so u will not be the one that throw the bomb.
Listen your father will not die,it is better for u to say it bfore his death so everybody will know his position.

Tell him to carry out the second option and if he is adamant then spill the bin showing him the evidence.

What I hate most in it all is that the mother will be tormenting the legitimate children with the illegitimate knowing well that she brought him from another man o.

TELL YOUR FATHER.
HE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO KNOW.
YOU ARE THE FIRST SON AND THAT'SYOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
YOU KNOW YOUR FATHER AND BY NOW, YOU SHOULD KNOW THE SUBTLE WAY TO TELL HIM SUCH NEWS AND HE WOULD DIGEST IT MILDLY.
IF YOU DO NOT TELL HIM, YOU WOULD FOREVER CARRY THE CROSS ON YOUR SHOULDERS AND BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY IT'S GOING TO BE HEAVIER THAN YOU THINK WHEN SUCH INFORMATION FOREVER STAYS BEHIND YOUR LIPS.
Footnote:
In all these, where is your mum?

Honestly i whould not be happy... But no am not the one engineering this..

I was told by my dad friend yesterday.

Am a man, hence the reason why i neet advice

Mr Man, it's very important you conduct the DNA test now. Your Dad is old enough to handle pressure. He has seen a lot in this life. You may not be able to handle this in future.

People won't like to listen to this story when your Dad is gone because they will think you want to deprive the innocent boy his entitlement.

Telling your father might make him despise you even if you thought you did yourself and your sibling a favour, most especially he feels some connections to that your step bro or his mom...

You should watch the movie "inception" then learn how to make someone do what you want them to do thinking they thought it oit themselves, that way, you don't come off as a bitter jealous brother... Hope you get the drift

I just lost my dad. My mum passed away in 2019. My mum was the first of three wives.

I doubt my dad left a will. My mum had 4 of us, his second had 3, and the last had 4.

Now,what if my dad or the family requested a DNA be done to ascertain the true blood children of my dad before anything is dished out?

I doubt any of my full siblings would want it. The DNA would change nothing as we would still consider them our siblings should any not turn out to be his. I know I'll pass as I'm a carbon copy of my dad.

Blood is thicker than water and love is the thickest of them all.

Truth be told, you're correct.

I watch this American paternity program, the Maury Show. There was this episode where a mixed race lady said her half sibling couldn't be her dad's as the man they called their dad is Puerto Rican (They are mixed race like Jennifer Lopez) while she was black.

The dark skinned half sibling was distressed by this all and kept urging for understanding

When the DNA test results were read, the dark-skinned daughter turned out not to be his biological daughter. The results also came out negative for the light skinned who was insisting the the dark-skinned daughter wasn't "her dad's".The dark-skinned was loving it grin grin

And ehat did the dad do? He went to hug boyh of them,. He might have sensed long ago they weren't his and still loved them. Even if he knew for the first time that day, he was their father from the cradle up.

My advice is, instead of telling your dad, Tell the bastard's mother instead with proof, then wait and see what happens but be careful with the women. If you tell your dad directly and it cast, people might think you are desperate to get rid of your step brother. Pls do this nd see how easy it will be.

Do what you know is right for you and your family. But before you tell your father about your step brothers legitimacy, make sure you are also your father's legitimate child. To avoid 'had I known'.

if it turns out he is not his father's son, I doubt the paternity of. the half brother will be the matter at hand

I realized long ago that having blood ties does not make a family.

If your step bro is family enough, then he is your brother.
At this point(assuming the news is true), the little guy is no longer his step-bro anymore. Just a stranger.

There are some certain things that are pure secrets, and problems that are hidden. They are best left the way they are to avoid heart attacks

Who is that guy to you

Do you have good relationships with him

Are you sharing the same mother

Do you have anything against him

Or you just want to create a problem that you may not solve for the rest of your life

Pls, leave your dad to do his home work and save yourself from being mentioned
