There is hardy any meat in owl. Just remove the feathers and you will see only bone

You can befriend the owl, but allow it the freedom to fly outside whenever it wants, this means, its better to create a place where it can come into your home and it can go freely, you can befriend it with food, maybe it will come back to visit.
