I like the way we're trying to portray CJ like he's some kind of mercurial no 2. CJ is at best a third option on a championship team, and that's who Dame has had his entire career. Dame was drafted into a dead franchise that had played only 3 (and lost all) playoff series in the previous 8 years. In his 9 years in Portland he's taken them to the playoffs in all but his rookie year.

Sometimes greatness is not all about championships. Dame turned the fortunes of a franchise. He wasn't fortunate to play with generational talents like Steph was with Klay, or with MVP calibre players like KD had at OKC.

Nine years and 6 all-NBA teams. 6 all-stars. ROTY. 8 playoff appearances. Mr. Clutch. Many dudes on that list can't even boast of that resume, but because they were part of a dynasty that won championships, they're there. Make we chill abeg, he deserves to be on that list.

Excellent stuff but I was talking about the post season. After all the discussion was about why the Celtics needed only Kyrie to reach the finals.

So post-season record with and without Kyrie please. I don’t like all those dubious regular season records where you are catching people on the back end of a road trip or at the end of a back to back.

Abegi, if he truly wants to win, he would have asked for cj to be traded. You think LeBron, MJ, KD, Harden, Kobe or Kawhi would have been okay just stat padding away in mediocrity?
You either push for the change you want or change teams.
Giannis was taking Bledsoe to ECF, rookie tatum did that with a weak team, Dwight took a nobody orlando team to the nba finals beating a 60 win LeBron team along the way.
Abegi Lillard has been getting an easy pass for too long. No MVP, no scoring title, no all defense

He is replying from the prism of protecting Lebron's legacy so I would not read much into what he is saying. Klay Thompson is now a generational talent but he did not make the top 75 and CJ is a 3rd option on a championship team. lol

That is how they rewrite history, the same KD-less warriors that had a 2 time MVP, top 5 greatest shooter of all time and a 2x DPOY. Out of the best 5 players in that series it can be argued that 4 were playing for GSW, so please explain how he was supposed to win.
Furthermore the disrespect for Jokic is sickening, when did losing to a team lead by the MVP of the league while averaging 34pts 10 assist and 4 rebounds as a guard equate to underachieving. The series against the Pelicans, out of the best 5players in the series the Pels had 3 of them and also had the best 2 defensive players in the series to boot, anyone who picked the Blazers to win that series should go learn the fundamentals of basketball.
I saw one of your posts where you said some people use boxscores to analyze games without watching them. I am sorry to say but that is the best way to describe you in this discussion. You say a lot of things that show you clearly did not watch any of the games. For e.g Do you know Iggy got hurt in that series against the Blazers? Do you know prior to his injury which ruled him out of game 4 he scored 4, 4 and 2 points? Do you know CJ was better than Dame in that series as well as the Pelicans series you tried to put a spin to? Do you know that if Dame had matched CJ's output they would have beat the Pels and at least extended the GSW series to at least 6? Do you know that the blazers were the 3rd seed in that series against the Pels (6th seed) and nobody gave the Pels a chance because Demarcus Cousins got hurt and their form tanked? That Jrue Holiday played out of his skin for the Pels to eke out narrow wins because your Dame was playing absolute garbage like we have been telling you?

So someone who is regarded as the second greatest shooter of all time is not a generational talent? Some people slow for this thread sha. Well, he supports Kyrie so I can't say I'm surprised.

Lol. Notice that all these guys you mentioned played in the east

MVP is subjective. It's almost impossible to win MVP with a bad team. But is he a perennial MVP calibre player? The answer is an emphatic yes. We can't really say that of Klay. Dame receives MVP votes every single year. Has Klay ever had an MVP vote? And scoring title is an argument to be used against people who can't actually score. Like Draymond Green or Simmons. Dame has averaged 30 in this league before. He's an elite scorer, while at the same time dropping 7 dimes a game.
Re: The NBA Begins by Android17: 3:47pm On Oct 23, 2021
True stupidity is when someone says a generational talent should not be included in the top 75 of a sport that that generational talent is a generational talent in. Coming from the quarters of people who believe a virus will mutate in a host who took nothing that will cause the virus to mutate (to survive). Lebtards and vaxxstards name a more iconic duo.

I remember the series and Dame stunk throughout. His best output was probably 19pts or so in game 4 I think.
That being said if you pick a likely winner based on narratives then that is on you. I pick my own based on actually watching the players and matchups like I said. Nobody who understands fundamentals of basketball would have picked the Blazers to win that series unless they just wanted to push hot takes.
First the Pelicans had 4 out of the 6 best players in the series in AD, Jrue, Rondo and Mirotic. They also had the best 2 defenders in AD and Jrue. Their best player AD was a nightmare match-up for the Blazers.
So I reiterate my stance, Dame and the Blazers did not lose a series in which they were the better team, yes his play throughout was awful but his team was still the lesser team.
If you can give me a breakdown of how that Blazers team was somehow better than the Pelicans, GSW and the Grizzlies teams they lost to I am open to listen

I agree with your take. For me players like Dame, Harden and Nash are examples of why I truly believe that the best way to build a championship team is when your number 1 option is a 2-way player. Getting a team together, like the KD-less warriors which allows for a deficient defender like Steph as the number 1 option is a very difficult proposition. I cannot for the life of me remember a team that has won the championship were their number 1 option was not a 2-way player.

I did not tell you the Blazers were better than the Warriors but in that regular season they blew us away twice one of which KD had 50 points and Curry played badly. The narrative was that without KD the series would be more competitive like 4-2, 4-3 GSW win not a sweep. That was my point. As for your take on the Blazers vs Pels, your argument is sound in some regards as the Pelicans were pushing when Cousins was playing. After his injury they fell so badly that I believe they became 12th seed in the west. They did pick up towards the end to qualify but they were very bad away from home. One thing I agree with you is everyone knew Portland) would not be able to manage AD but the trend that time was that Jrue will lose his scoring trying to handle Dame and that since the Blazers had homecourt they would win the series in 6 or 7. AD was very big in game 1 but for the remainder 3 games he was contained in 2/3. It was Jrue Holiday that blew the series away as he kept having big nights (I think he even had 47 points in one of the games). Now recall that those games were very close. Like 3 of the 4 were decided by 2 points or so. Dame repeatedly missed the chance to flex his watch and show Dame time. He folded. That was the point. He miscued chances to leave imprints (something Kyrie has consistently done). Now take note that nobody except Iggy is saying Kyrie should definitely be top 75. We are saying if Dame and AD made it from the current list of active players, then Kyrie should have over them.

We've seen Klay get compared to Steph a lot of times in terms of getting hot from beyond the arc. Klay has records that even Steph doesn't have. When Klay made 14 3s in a game, it was Steph's record he broke. And he did it in 27 mins. It's Klay who scored 37 points in a quarter of basketball. I don't see Ray Allen or Reggie Miller in any of these conversations. They could shoot quite alright, but their records are longevity records. Klay has had a carrier high of 60 since 2016, Steph reached that mark for the first time this year. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise; Klay is a generational talent and his talent is shooting. He might not be a franchise player like Steph and these other superstars, but his talent for shooting is unmatched.
