Lol. Misplaced priorities.

Abịa state government that has not been able to completely pay workers of the now upgraded polytechnic, is now upgrading to university.

Same school that over 40percent of her departments failed accreditation by polytechnic standard, is now upgrading to a university.

I finally give up on these Nigerian government at all level. A state that is battling with recurrent expenditure that is blowing out of proportion is now adding more to the one on ground. Kudos! Can the internally generated revenue take care of just one of the created institutions?
Just my opinion though

I'm certain when NUC begins with them, they will rush back to status quo.

Hmmm.... just renaming them as universities ..... nothing else changes.... same curriculum... same teachers ... same level of education... and in the end ... watering down the value of a university degree.
Foreign scholarships to those desiring to study abroad .... note ... desiring... not deserving. The State is now going to pay for the politicians' children desiring to study abroad. But many will still shout...good development.

once it concerns ABIA everyone will have something bad to say. yes the state is in a bad form and a lot of things ain't right there, but everything cant be done at a time. the govt is already messed up and the citizens ain't helping matters but sit and complain while doing nothing. so for me i think changing the schools to uni and changing the certs to degrees would be a better news to students of the respective schools, cus whether we believe it or not b.sc and hnd can never be the same in the eyes of nigerian HR

Very Good One from the Governor......One of the few things he has done rightly, especially the bifurcation of the Ministry of Education.

Anyway Universities are springing here and there in the country, and when these Polytechnics look at their infrastructure they can easily outshadow some of the private Universities.
