That's like general knowledge. Imagine having to pay that much in taxes. Off goes 50% of your net worth
DO you even know what 50% means??

You need to check your brain well.

Ibm is an american global company with office in berlin...posted a jobs ad with the neccessary qualification for the German market in German language. Infact they went further in their job ad by writing this..Sehr gute Deutsch- und gute Englischkenntnisse

If you had understand german, you wouldn't have omitted it

Mumu. HR can post as many things as they want in a job. They can ask for as many skills as possible. That's what HR does. It's left to the hiring manager and the department to decide if they can cope with you. I know this because the job I applied for and got had the same demands. But they asked me and I told them I only speak English.

Even in Nigeria job posts usually require more skills than you have experience in. Does that mean you don't apply or don't get the job when you do? Oh I forgot you are an unemployed zombie like someone said. Sorry for having mistaken you for someone with a career.

If you think my German is so bad I won't recognize what Deutschkenntnisse means after all this while then you are actually dumber than I give you credit for.

Even those arranging and filling orders are better than you. If they give you the job now you go quick grab am. All your statement is just exposing your jealousy against those people you know who are working in those companies. First you stared by saying they can't get a job because of the language. Then later you changed it to low skilled jobs. Then now you are saying it's just customer service and arranging others.

One thing is for sure, they are doing better than you. Cry all you want. Wish them to be deported all you want. They aren't online bitterly arguing about other people's work and earnings lol. They will keep doing better than you and you will keep finding a way to console yourself on public forums cheesy

I didn't know i touched a nerve, stop crying, atleast you have admitted i was right. I don't look down on people that do repetitive job. My message to you, is stop hyping nonsense.

And also, Pls stop saying you work in tech because you arrange and filled in order or because you do ubereats or work as customer service in Facebook grin grin

Between you are acting like you aren't argueing about people's work and jobs, you are accusing me of the same thing you are guilty of.

I'm more interested in what route they used to move to Germany.

I logged in to like and quote this post. The route of emigration and quality of migrant are key factors in determining the aftermath of an immigrant from sub-Saharan Africa.

Who admitted you were right? Shameless mugu. I am just letting you know that anyone doing any job like that in Berlin is better than you. I don't care about your preaching or trying to save face. You have exposed yourself as a fool and I will help you loud it lol

I am currently in Germany and I can tell you it's been a great experience. I came via msc/study and currently working. Great work/life balance even though I'm not married but it's a good country to raise a family and great for work/study.

OBUKOMENA:
Good evening nairalanders! I hope you had a good day?

So, let me just go straight to my reason for opening this thread, and I hope I would be able to convey my thoughts impeccably:

It seems like some of our people who travelled to Germany aren't doing so well after all (I stand to be corrected, though!)
I have a friend over there whom I am preparing to go meet. This guy has been there since 2017. He hardly calls me on normal call. He would rather call on WhatsApp. Reason being so that he could get in touch cheaply. The first and only time I asked him to send me something, he told me pointblank he didn't have.
Just this afternoon, I heard a colleague's father just came back to Nigeria from there after 21 solid years! He had abandoned his wife and children here in Nigeria. If he was doing so well over there, would he not have arranged for his family to come over and stay with him - at least?

I have been worried, even before I heard this colleague's father thing: I don't know what I am going to meet at the friend's place; I don't know what life is like over there - how to cope in a non-English speaking environment. I don't know how long it's going to take me to make it over there and reconnect with my family. This news about my colleague's dad also increased my worries.

So, I decided I would come on here to ask: Aren't these red flags as regards traveling over there, especially with the hope that when i get there, after 2-3 years, I would bring in my family.
Anyone here knows about life in Germany?

This is the most insightful post I've seen on this topic. They come from a country where they've always felt entitled despite not paying taxes. So it amazes them when they learn they have to pay in these countries. It can sometimes be a long bridge to travel.

Seriously it amazes me

I swear you be MUMU.

HR of an international company will post as many things as possible like do you even work....stop falling my hands.

Germans that are very detailed even to the last note will post nonsense on the job description and accept nonsense grin

Don't make me laugh grin and you claim you work in " tech"

Like I said you are unemployed. If you have actually gone for an interview before you will know HR asks for more things than they expect you to have most times. Even in Germany. It doesn't matter where. It is very unlikely you have all the skills they list. And they don't hold it against you. I have never worked anywhere where I ticked the boxes on the list 100%. What they need is that you are a good enough fit and a better option than the competition. You would know this if you have actually passed a job interview before lol.

I admit i can't write English properly, just like the British know you can't speak English properly even with your mighty" vocabulary "

Do you think i went to Freie Universität Berlin to go learn English, even my German professor at the university couldn't even write English well but damn, was a great teacher.

The watch word is EQUALL OPPORTUNITY, does that exist in GERMANY
I once asked a guy here to tell me how many Nigerians he knows who are Police, Navy,Aair force, Immigration officers or Prison officers in Germany and France, up till date we are waiting still

But seriously, how many Nigerians are there in Germany and France? Compared to Ireland and the UK, why should Nigerians enter those professions enmass when the population is very low? If you had asked how many Senegalese in French military forces and the number is low, one would understand.

This is basic maths.

All working together. What language do you think we all speak together? Your native tongue? So much dumbness in one person. He can't even think and gather his thoughts before arguing.

Tesla is opening a factory in Berlin. They've already employed 2 Nigerians I know of there. This one is so hopeless he can't think straight.

Someone will think because you are in Germany, you will have sense but No, the environment and society you are living didn't even influence your life. Imagine someone saying young germans speak English. and then if they speak English, is English the national language??

Btw, Can't you not write your opinion without abuse.

Anyway,You are fucking low wager because you act like one grin only God who knows if you spend all your times sharing ad papers in the summer and winner.

As far as i am concerned, the lack of german language skills kill any good job opportunity.

Lastly, you can shove your further opinion into your lose black ass.
my only female sibling is an italian citizen. She, together with her husband had to learn German for months before they could work normally in Germany and earn good wages. The language will surely limit u.

Take it from someone who lives abroad (real abroad o!). If you have a vision for your life, it may die abroad. You may end up in a small apartment with electricity, cheap Coca Cola and fatty burgers. You may get married and have kids. Soon, you will start consoling yourself with the lie that you did it for your children. The truth is, you sacrificed your dreams. Before you know it, you are 50 and the thought of coming back to Naija with nothing to fall back on haunts you. Even your friends would have moved on, some of them significantly better than you. So, to save face, you stay back. Out of frustration, you insult Nigeria from abroad and say she will never be well, but deep down, you know it's frustration.

If you have a steady income that is reasonable in Nigeria, seek ways to build additional sources of revenue. Choose a quiet state/city to live in and enjoy your life.

I am not saying you shouldn't travel o! So many Nigerians/immigrants are doing well also. Just think am well, because the abroad of the mid-80s and early 90s that our uncles went to doesn't exist anymore.

Make e be like dat.

Hmmmmm.

For me germany is like every other developed countries. Language is really a barrier. The country is rich but the people are not cos government takes care of the citizens under socio welfare scheme. If you want things to go well you have to learn the language very well. To be documented is a big deal in Germany. So you have to make a proper plan to be documented. It's one of the most corrupt free countries in the world. The Germans are strict and very time conscious. No Africa time. To be able to adapt to the situations in Germany you need a total transformation. It all depends on your aspirations

You probably haven't even gotten your own Aufenthaltserlaubnis in 2 or 3 years, talk less of bringing someone over.

I entered Germany in October 2003. At the moment i shuttle between Switzerland and Germany.

I don't know how old you are. I don't know your marital status. Your age will determine my advice to you. As long as Germany or Europe is concerned, age is a very important factor to consider before making the move.

I understand the situation of your friend fully well. He is struggling. And please, perish the thought that you are coming to Germany to stay with him. Because it's not even possible.

I can actually write and write and write about my experiences but i know Nigerians don't like to read. grin So i will just stop here until i at least know your age.
