Mumu. HR can post as many things as they want in a job. They can ask for as many skills as possible. That's what HR does. It's left to the hiring manager and the department to decide if they can cope with you. I know this because the job I applied for and got had the same demands. But they asked me and I told them I only speak English.

Even in Nigeria job posts usually require more skills than you have experience in. Does that mean you don't apply or don't get the job when you do? Oh I forgot you are an unemployed zombie like someone said. Sorry for having mistaken you for someone with a career.

I am currently in Germany and I can tell you it's been a great experience. I came via msc/study and currently working. Great work/life balance even though I'm not married but it's a good country to raise a family and great for work/study.

It seems like some of our people who travelled to Germany aren't doing so well after all (I stand to be corrected, though!)
I have a friend over there whom I am preparing to go meet. This guy has been there since 2017. He hardly calls me on normal call. He would rather call on WhatsApp. Reason being so that he could get in touch cheaply. The first and only time I asked him to send me something, he told me pointblank he didn't have.
Just this afternoon, I heard a colleague's father just came back to Nigeria from there after 21 solid years! He had abandoned his wife and children here in Nigeria. If he was doing so well over there, would he not have arranged for his family to come over and stay with him - at least?

I have been worried, even before I heard this colleague's father thing: I don't know what I am going to meet at the friend's place; I don't know what life is like over there - how to cope in a non-English speaking environment. I don't know how long it's going to take me to make it over there and reconnect with my family. This news about my colleague's dad also increased my worries.

So, I decided I would come on here to ask: Aren't these red flags as regards traveling over there, especially with the hope that when i get there, after 2-3 years, I would bring in my family.
Anyone here knows about life in Germany?

my only female sibling is an italian citizen. She, together with her husband had to learn German for months before they could work normally in Germany and earn good wages. The language will surely limit u.

For me germany is like every other developed countries. Language is really a barrier. The country is rich but the people are not cos government takes care of the citizens under socio welfare scheme. If you want things to go well you have to learn the language very well. To be documented is a big deal in Germany. So you have to make a proper plan to be documented. It's one of the most corrupt free countries in the world. The Germans are strict and very time conscious. No Africa time. To be able to adapt to the situations in Germany you need a total transformation. It all depends on your aspirations
