Ojukwu and Kanu are freedom fighters. Freedom is one of the most honourable things a person or people can fight for. Its better to fight for your freedom and fail, than to be a coward who accepts to be a slave because he has no fight in him

Have you heard of progression? It is from progress. Ojukwu fought a war of guns and was outgunned and outmanned. Kanu fought a war of words and was arrested, not for the first time but the second. What you all do not know is that Kanu is just one man. There are millions of Igbo with the consciousness of freedom because we do not believe that a whiteman that came to our land from thousands of miles away has the right to determine our destiny the way you all do. The worst part of the Calamity was that the Hawks who insisted that War was the only Solution and rejected all diplomatic attempts to end the fighting had already fled to Europe with their families before the War ended and as soon as it was obvious that the Collapse of Biafra was inevitable


If not for Azikiwe that had already started dialogue with Gowons Govt the East was almost left leaderless because almost all the other leaders had fled
