We have stumbled on a video that captures the heartbreaking moment some young men drowned in a river whilst they were having fun in it with their friends.

The guys numbering 5 of them had gone to the river to swim but it appears not every one of them had mastery over the water in terms of swimming and whilst the three swam back to the bank of the river the other two could not save themselves.

In a 17 seconds video, the young men could be seen struggling to float on the surface of the river and one raised his hand calling for help but unfortunately for him, no one came to his rescue leaving him to his own fate.




The other had already submerged into the unidentified river and they drowned as their friends watched on helplessly. Other videos showed they did not make it alive.

I still recall my first time of going to a river to swim alongside some friends after we finished our ss3 mock exams. I decided to beak that gentle boy character in me for the first time. My first time inside a large volume of water. I thought it was the shallow part. I believe it was only God that kept me alive that day cos my feet was not even touching the water bed and I was just floating but calm. How I managed to keep afloat and managed to swim that day was just God cos I could av drowned. I was just swallowing water and somehow got to the river bank. That could have been the end. Personally I was happy that I swam for the first time but this was an achievement I dare not speak of at home. The next time my friends called for us to go again the following week, I refused going and one of them eventually drowned that day. I have lost so many friends to drowning. One notable one is a friend celebrating his final exams in the uni, a very smart architecture student. He drowned.

While growing, people won't warn you twice not to go near water if you don't know how to swim!
Once you start proving stubborn, they'd simply encourage you to jump and then watch as you drown to your fill.
Only after you have gone numb will they come to your rescue. Why?! You don't try to save a drowning man if you don't want to get drown yourself!

My mama warned me countless times to not swim in any river even swimming pool. Na the only advice I'm yet to break. I have been to many rivers but to swim na another thing.


On another note,you can't blame the dude that was videoing the whole thing,he fit no sabi swim not to talk of saving the drowning person.

Is it only those that don't know how to swim that drown in water. It may be due to a change in the water current or even muscular cramp.
