I tell you, I was at the mall after work yesterday, the shelves were dry, major food all gone.

E be like like say make I give 1 silly guy slap yesterday, I got to the bus stop to discover my bus card had disappeared. So I left my shopping bags at the bus stop to have a quick check at the mall. My mind was telling me abi make I no leave am whether somebody go steal am. Na im I say, nobody go carry am na shebi dem say camera dey everywhere. I ran in and came out to see one guy putting my bags away in his boot. I ran up to ask him what he was doing. He said oh sorry I'm in a phone call with the food bank and I thought someone wanted to give these away.

I was like how do you mean, if I wanted to have a give away I would have given the food bank a ring myself. He said sorry, dashed into his car, made a U-turn and left. If he really wanted to be kind, why would he not gibe me a ride when he discovered that my card had disappeared. Iranu

My mind was just imagining different things, like he probably wasn't calling any food bank. Or imagine if places were switched as in a black man putting a white's stuff in his boot.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Big mistake, you are lucky that you came out on time.

Cambridge

Cambridge can be expensive from what I hear from a friend who live there. But I know she gets so much support from her church especially when she had her 1st baby. She is an adventist though but I believe there would be other churches who could be of great help. Your 5year old will be in school but the 3 year old can only get 15hrs.

It will be great to have your partner, mum or a family member come around or look for a colleague with whom you can take places to look after each others kids. Child care cost can be very expensive especially if you have more than 1child

That is not entirely true considering the pay gap between London and outer London workers. Apart from housing, cost of living between London and the rest of the UK cities are relatively the same. My friend that lives in Luton drives to London to buy African food as its cheaper compare to Luton or cities in Bedfordshire.

The cost of petrol will swallow up the savings difference. You can get African food to buy in Milton Keynes market as cheap as London prices and in in Bedford town.

No it will not as she doesn't drive to London everyday, week or month for shopping.

Your request is like looking for a squirrel, with a hunch back........... grin

You don't want to live in London, yet you want an hour train ride to Chelsea harbour...............

Let me start by suggesting Dartford (as a kenturian)........ grin

Dartford rail station is a main connecting hub, get a train to London bridge or Waterloo and take the underground to Fulham Broadway (or get a folding bike )......... wink

You go kill person oh.

I believe this depends on your financial stand. Do you have a steady income in the UK and not from overseas. Duration of the visa. What is your disposable income monthly and how many dependents you have. These are requirements that you need to review first before researching on the broker that may take you on especially within your visa category.

A question I am curious about to help in my decision making. Can someone on study permit invest or buy real estate properties in the UK. I believe people already living there are best to answer this question..

Yes you can. But - you most likely will need to buy outright unless you can show evidence of continuing income enough to pay the mortgage and your living expenses from somewhere and have a visa longer than 24 months. Your deposit will also be much higher as well as higher interest rates. Basically it's not impossible

Please I need an advice on how to manage with my 2 kids , age 5 and 3years alone and working as nurse, 12hours shift 3 to 4days a week. I need advice and suggestions please

Please think and plan this properly. Many schools stopped after school clubs and the 3yo will be attending paid or party paid nursery.
Child care cost can easily outstrip even accommodation cost.

No managing!!!!!! Don't even contemplate leaving them at home by themselves...........

It's either you leave them in Nigeria (assuming that's your port of exit) or have a social network that you could exchange care services or come with a ready - made childminder from Nigeria.............

Childcare would completely strip you of that 35 hours weekly rota earnings (not considering other logistical associated costs).......

Even if you can afford to buy outright, you will get a lot of grief about the source of the cash and not all solicitors might want to take you on especially linked with Nigeria due to this money laundering wahala.

The shortest let’s are usually 6 months, it’s not in any landlords interest to let out a property for a short period because of the costs involved in finding a tenant. Except Airbnb.

Please is there anyone traveling to Lagos this period. I want to send a laptop to Lagos urgently. I will pay for logistics

Just got information that using DHL and other companies is very frustrating as they will ask me to pay for customs duty in Lagos.

DHL is not always so. Just declare the laptop as personal goods and give it a value of under £100. You should be alright. Of course do not expect any compensation above declared value incase things go south.

If you want to take total control of your portfolio...........

Use your virtual equity to copy -:

(Jaynemesis)
(Jeppe Kirk Bonde)
This two above, you can no longer copy. They are already managing over $75 Million of copiers funds each (AUM reached). But search their portfolio, to guide your purchase............

Fabrizio Zanol
Koen Dauw
TeaTea Chi
Richard Stroud
Big-Profits (forex only)

The ones above also, use their portfolio as a guide on investments................

Hello, please I need advice/suggestions.

I will be travelling to the UK in January with my family as an international student. While searching for accommodation, I got a 3 bedroom flat in Durham. Unfortunately, I couldn't get someone to do viewing for me (though the landlady immediately agreed that I sent someone and also dropped her phone numbers). So, I opted for virtual viewing and everything looks good.

She is not yet married and she said she's been in the UK for 6 years. Can someone co-own a property in UK in this short period?(She's Ghanaian and the other person is Nigerian). I was told to pay a deposit of £500 while I will pay the monthly rent of £570 when we are ready to move in. She didn't request for a guarantor as well.

She always sound nice and ready to help. Infact, she agreed that I can pay half of the deposit now and the balance in January before we arrive.

Elders, is it possible that this woman want to scam me or it's just one of those things? I got to know about the co-owner when I got the rent contract and according to her, she has a lower share in the property. The account number for payment is also hers.

Can I proceed please?
