By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has reacted to the Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB’s ban on the consumption of ‘Fulani cows’ (beef) in South-East, calling for a total boycott of all businesses operated by the Igbo all over the North.

CNG through its Spokesperson, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, said that IPOB’s order issued in a statement on Monday by one Emma Powerful, amounted to a grave provocation and serious threat to northern commercial interests in the South East and by extension, to the physical wellbeing of Northerners living as minorities among Igbo communities.

In a renewed resolve to pay a coin for a coin, for any direct or indirect attack or threat to Northerners and their interests anywhere in the country, the CNG called for the total boycott of all businesses, goods and services operated by Igbo in the North effective from the same April 2022.

The CNG also called on northerners everywhere to decline support for any political party or formation or movement that has the active participation of South-East politicians.[/b]

“For the avoidance of doubt, the North while maintaining its tradition of tolerance and accommodation, shall however no longer be disposed to condoning further acts of irresponsibility in the form of deliberate threats of intimidation or harassment targeted at Northerners living and doing legitimate businesses elsewhere in the country.

“Since such targeted utterances have in the past being preludes to physical attacks on northerners and destruction of their properties in particularly the South East, we urge northern transporters and suppliers of goods to consider alternative trade routes to avoid the imminent risks that come with this IPOB threat.

“We warm that the North has had enough of the antagonism from the South East and its attack dog, the IPOB and will no longer remain passive under such deliberate and sustained attacks and will henceforth be forced to react to every provocation and unwarranted abuse and violations.

“All those who have no other useful vocation other than attacking northerners under the slightest of pretexts should know that our patience has reached its nadir.

“The North’s reticence in speaking out or taking action is not born of fear or ignorance of how to respond in
kind,” Suleiman said.

Hmmm. The media is on its usual lazy voyage of feeding fat from reporting the proxies of irrelevant state actors who sponsor different terrorist groups

O set go

CNG should sometimes be calming down....

Igbos are not speaking on behalf of SE, they are probably passing the message to their Meth addict members.

How Igbo people allowed illiterates and miscreants to over run their region should be added to one of the new wonders in the world.

Igbo's and terrorism don't go together, Igbos are more like cancer in SE which should be cut down with the roots

Nigeria...a country of many gladiators and few spectators

Truth be told, banning beef from the north is not necessary. Just encourage Igbos in the east to go into ranching and rearing of cattle.

The suppliers (northerners vs easterners) who cannot stand the competition will run out of business

There's nothing like northerners as we hitherto used to know that term, now what we have are myriads of groups aligned against Fulanis forcefully trying to takeover their lands with violence under the guise of herdsmen and banditry.

Many northerners are wishing that people stopped eating meat because of the Fulani menace in their localities and see IPOB as a pressure group against murderous Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore.

Are you going to convince Benue,Plateau, Nasarawa, Kogi, Taraba,Southern Kaduna etc to turn against Igbos, this is not 1966 even while we ask IPOB to seek dialogue which Buhari has mentioned that he is not interested in political solution

There's no organization as powerful as IPOB now.

When they gave an order Northern Nigeria trembles.

And even if they boycott Igbo goods, certainly Igbos are not the ones that will lose rather they're

Whoever is calling for the boycott probably is not aware that there are more igbo business interest in the North than there are Fulani business interest in the East.

Most of the cattles coming from the North are owned by Igbo business marchants who must have bought them from the Fulanis whose only job is to escort the marchandise to their final destination.

There are more igbo investments in the North than there are Fulani investment in the East.

In the case of any crisis the Igbos in the North will suffer most, as most of the Northern settlements in the East are close to the Army barracks or there is a military presence there for protection.

Check out these states and the Northern settlements and you will notice one striking reoccurrence which is that are all situated around the military base or have heavy military presence there.

Abia State- Lokpanta
Imo State- Obinze
Anambra State- close to MCC junction Onitsha
Enugu- Ugwu-oba

This powerful guy should stop endangering the lives of those he claims to protect.

This issue should be resolved amicably by the elders of the both parties. Ipob should consider the effects of any approach they adopted in the cause of struggle to get their leader Nnamdi Kanu out of prison.
Now that northerners want to follow the suit with coin for coin and blood for blood.
Ipob should not hold anybody responsible for shortage of food in the southeast.
This is how Awolowo was held responsible for the starvation of biafra citizens but you can not be fighting with your enemies and the same time feeding them, it is foolishness.
A word is a enough for the wise.

I have no patience to read bullcrap..,however one thing caught my eyes...These groups can openly flaunt their colors and insignia, but a Chiwetel Agu can't dorn a rising sun attire(which is the fairly acceptable symbol of the average igbo)in his own home without being manhandled and made caricature of
