STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT BUHARI SETS THE BALL ROLLING FOR A BIG MILITARY OPERATION IN NIGER STATE

President @MBuhari as Commander-in-Chief of the nation’s armed forces has set the ball rolling for a major military operation in Niger State which has faced continued attacks on its communities by bandits and remnants of Boko Haram terrorists fleeing theaters of war in the Northwestern and Northeastern parts of the country.

In a directive to @DefenceInfoNG a few days ago, the President asked the military to respond robustly to the cases of killings & kidnappings in the State & to give effect to the strategic objectives through the use of force.

In his message to the government and people of Niger State, President Buhari said, “I would like to express sincere sympathies to the government and people of the State following recent security incidents.”

The President reiterated that security is a responsibility of every member of the community and only through solidarity and cooperation with law enforcement agencies can we defeat the problems finally.

“@NigeriaGov is willing to strengthen support and cooperation with all the states. I believe that with the full cooperation of the citizens, we will surely overcome this problem,” said the President.

If this military operation was okeyed in the south east, by tomorrow the whole front pages of the national dalies would have been littered with the corpses of innocent youths and burnt properties.

And youths from other geopolitical zones who ought to speak against such injustice would mock and encourage the government.

Since it's Niger State, aside sharing the budget allocated for this operation, by the top army generals I see nothing spectacular happening there, I see killings and kidnappings on the increase in Niger State, I see a failed kidnapping attempt made on IBB's residence at hill top.

This I have seen.

Reactive government!! Why didn’t the military start attacking bandits and boko haram from that end, or stationed military personnel and hardwares!

Hundreds or thousands have to die first before military action. Nigeria is on autopilot with this mannequin at aso rock! Nigeria will not work on this current constitution!

To be honest with you all, this statement of his is just laying fallow on the peripheral surface of action and implementation.

Do you want to know how a president works and acts? It is with same measure he maltreated the Benue indigenes in 2021 when an officer lost his life in the hands of the community security operatives in Benue state. The president gave an order and it came to past. My friend's properties were affected and I saw the true definition of a president's ORDER. Not all these consolations.

The way the write up was drafted, it's as if buhari is doing the people of Niger state a favour. Almost like their "saviour" has finally heard their cries and has come to save them. Unfortunately, the write up only reveals that buhari has failed because if it is until he "sets the ball rolling" on any security issue before his security chiefs do their jobs, then it shows that we don't have a govt
