Absolutely. Because the funds required increases per day.

cutebear:
In fact, she should put 7-8 days sef. In order to reduce the money needed.

Hello. Good morning house…please is 2.2m enough for proof of funds for a visit visa
More than the account balance, make sure your account statement is clean. People have gotten visas with way less than 1M closing balance. Don't do money lodgement and have massive unexplained deposits to your account.

Yes, not friendly.

Good info here.

Please advise needed from anyone in the house. If there is any experience, please share.

Please does this mean you can apply to the US Embassy in London or Belfast to get an appointment date and travel to the UK around that time for the interview?

Also, does this mean you can also apply through the drop box in the UK with a Visitor Visa.

Please, do you also have an idea if you can apply for a US visa in any part of Schengen states with a Schehgen visa?

Note: The UK visa is 10 years, and Schengen is 2 years and both are still valid.

Please note: Address and every other documentations are not an issue.

I honestly don't know what else you want to hear. You can apply for a US visa from any country in the world as long as you are documented. Whether you are a tourist or a resident is irrelevant. If you like travel before the appointment or be in the UK already then apply. It is not a problem. Your address does not have to be a UK based address. Without going too much into my personal circumstances while working in the US, I have flown to the UK on a tourist visa for the sole purpose of renewing my US visa and stated same to the ECO and that was fine. The only problem I had was that I made a rookie mistake and booked a one-way trip, so the ECO gave me some hassles about it.

I do not think you are eligible for a dropbox as you have not applied from that country before, i.e. your fingerprints have not been captured in that country (but this is my opinion. Please check the rules).

The duration of your UK visa and Schengen is irrelevant because ideally, you cannot stay longer than 6months in any country as a tourist unless you apply for an extension.

Hotel and flight is the main thing that will determine the cost of your trip
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cutebear: 9:54am On Jan 17, 2022
Yes, hotel for 7 days will obviously require less funds than hotel for 2 weeks

Please, how can I know if UKVI has contacted fidelity bank to verify my bank statement submitted. Decision has not been made on my visa yet
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by AmeliaT: 10:21am On Jan 17, 2022
Ofcourse hotel, flight; amongst other things but the bill for 7 days is different from 14 days or 28 days. That is the point @cutebear and I are making.

Flight- Fixed
Hotel- Per day
Food- Per day
Transport- Per Day
Entertainment- Per Day

The longer you stay, the higher the cost and requirement for funds in the account. I created an excel sheet, once I enter how long my husband is going for, it tells me the required amount he needs to spend per category and then the total as well as the minimum balance he should have in his account based on that. It's just something I use based on logic.

7-8 days is okay but 2 weeks is ideal.
Sometimes, ECO will say that you're blowing x amount of money in 1 week. While there is nothing wrong with 1 week or even less, the ideal in my opinion is 2 weeks but it depends on individual situation.

Someone that did Dec 30th recently got a decision. Some people have been waiting for a decision since October. I’ve been waiting since November 17th. There are different timelines here.

Simple answer there's no way for you to find out. It's not standard procedure for them to contact your bank. Honestly, it isn't your business if they do or do not. As long as the documents submitted are genuine then there's nothing to worry about.

hello,
sorry for the wait.
permit my poor recollection of things, i think an op on here some few threads aback stated doing biometrics on 20 Dec, and had gotten a decision and the visa. I did on 21 Dec, and have had things settled with them.

You might want to reach them via paid mails or/and calls.
wish your application a favourable outcome.

Lol! Am sure the reason he wants to know is that , maybe he's tapered with the money in the account so much. So he's scared of the fact that If they find out it might affect the decision, because it happened to me too

Well, I think it's fine if the OP just "tampered" with it. As long as your account statement is clean and you still have enough to fund your trip then you shouldn't worry. Even if they decide to verify your documents you should still be fine. It's a bank account hence it's unrealistic for you not to be spending from the account until your visa is approved.

A friend did biometrics on Dec 21, got collection email today. My cousin however is still awaiting decision since December 3rd. We have October and November people here awaiting decisions. What matters is not how long it takes, it is the good outcome. Just exercise patience.

I think he means his visa expired 2 years ago. So he's now an illegal immigrant. If i'm wrong please let the OP clarify this for us.
