Gentleman, I equally know that the thread is for prospective gentlemen officers.... The question the guy asked above demands a kind answer!!!! And if you don't have answer to it you ignore it!!! Your reponse toward that question is total wrong!!! Forget passion, most people that join the army join it as a result of benefits....nobody wan die oo...but if it happens then so be it....bless Jah, cos we can't question HIM!...So he asked if there is pension for DSSC....and I believe that the question is a dicothomus question...which you either respond by saying YES or NO...and not the negative thing you typed above.
Thanks!

Again, you failed to point out the lie I told. You just ended up bantering needlessly.

The question he asked is a rhetorical question. Everybody knows that a typical government job is pensionable, let alone our father's Army job. If anything, I am sure I responded to the guy's question humorously, and even provided him with a glimpse of how his life in the Army could be.

I pity whoever joins the Army for the "benefit" because no financial emolument will ever be worth a job where the risk of your losing your life is high. The Army is not lucrative at all, and financial rewards is a wrong mentality to use in joining the Army. You will get frustrated.

By the way, could you stop using the exclamation marks and capital letters, you come off like you are yelling and being rude.

Thanks.

People don't know what they are getting themselves into. When they finally join the army they will realise that it is not as financially rewarding compared to the risk they face everyday, yes you will be Ok financially but.............
Again some gov't MDAs are even more financially rewarding than the army, NN & NAF is even better only those that have real passion for the job, I mean undying passion for army will be able to withstand the pressure, uncertainty etc alot have retired as Captains and Majors even as Lts for various reasons. Now you must serve a minimum of 15yrs to be pensionable it used to be 10yrs. Army discovered that many officers especially short service guys were targeting that 10year mark to retire and move on with other things while enjoying pension. Only female officers are finding it soft in this job, even Chaplains, Doctors are seen in the frontlines.

Sniper04, I believe this expressly answers your question. You didn't provide sufficient context to your question, so I took it to be in the general sense of every commission and provided you served the 35 years or compulsorily retired for age reasons.

Cheers bro!

We know your kind bro. You are trying so hard to be a smart ass, but the more you try, the more you reveal how uncouth, rude, incorrigible and immature you are. Thankfully, Seun will soon be introducing a common-sense test before members sign up to join Nairaland or make a post here. When that happens, we will have less of your kind to deal with.

When we began analysing and dissect issues from way back here, you were probably still in the university. I suggest you stick to your Npower, Neco and poultry hustles/threads and desist from bringing in negative energy and toxicity here.

Good morning all, sorry for derailing, I want to join the Nigerian army and I don't really have much information but I was told to apply through Dssc or Ssc because am a graduate of History Education hoping to work at their Army schools or colleges, so my question is when next will the recruitment take place, and what to expect. I will really appreciate having all the information available and prepare myself effectively for what am expecting before applying. Thank you.
