Hello Guys,

I pray this gets to the front page for all to know the decadence of our health system and medical employees in UBTH

Its quite appalling and unbelievable the inhumane attitude and total disregard for lives in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. I remember in times past, it was not like the way it is now. You have professionals, empathetic medical staffs and best of care attendants in UBTH. But as we speak now, you will be doing yourselves a disservice or allowing your ward to just die like chicken if you carry any of your family members there.

We never knew it was this bad and useless not until my father had an ailment which required an operation. Oga If you don't have money to bribe the doctors and other officials there, more so getting to know any top medical staff there, your ward is as dead as gone.

It was God that saved us, what you will buy outside UBTH for 100naira, it will be 400naira in the Hospital. Nobody cares about you, you will run helter shelter just to get some doctor to attend to you or else sorry will be your state.

On a final note, we thank God for the surgery carried out on my father was successful and we quickly discharged him or else the way we were seeing people dying everyday due to the non challant attitude of staffs of UBTH was worrisome.

I call on the state or federal government to do a surprise visit to UBTH and see the nonsense happening there. Its an eye-sore and pitiful for patient there. Other private individual can also visit and do their own investigation if what I state here is the truth.

May God help our nation.

Nigeria is gone!

OP, not just in UBTH alone, it's the same everywhere in the country. Nigeria has zero value for human life. If you don't have money, you're on your own! Buhari has finally destroyed this country beyond redemption.

It is a Nigerian thing, this doctors, especially the nurses, MOST of them look at patients as if the are dirt's. With no human felling and sympathy. Its so painful that many have died due to this carelessness and attitude.anyway Thank God for your dad.

All teaching hospitals in Nigeria are nothing to write home about...they always improvise for equipments...the health system of this country is zero, make sure you take good care of your health, prevention is better than cure and make sure you embrace nature embrace herbs and live healthy

At least it's the poor attitude to work, not the incompetence of the medical staff.
It's an administration and peculiar Nigerian poor public service thing.A good leader or administrator can always change the attitude so long the capacity and professional competence is there.

Nothing is orderly man you need to know someone there to be able to get admitted and have a bed for d patient if not you will wait for hours or even days
The person caring for patient has to do hide and seek with doctors before they will come and give injection omo story long, very dirty toilet n environment
So many people died during my short stay then
