Geely Nigeria just launched a new SUV- The Azkarra and it’s beyond nice looking as it is equipped with a new hybrid power system and lots of technological features that ensure an easy and smooth drive.
The launch was informative and fun to say the least. Do you think this would be the best selling suv in Nigeria?

Need Help!!!

Car: Honda Accord 2004 2.4L i4
Problem noticed: Car drives well on a free road. After getting stuck in traffic for some mins, hard shifting is noticed (having to get to RPM to shift to the next gear). Then there is a kickback when downshifting (taking the leg off throttle). Once I park by the road side, engine off and back on, it resets. Until the next traffic.
This mostly happens after a long drive

CEL is off
Car scanned: Codes- P0685, P0780, P1734 (PCM/ECM power relay circuit control malfunction, problem in shift control system and shift solenoid valves B and C stuck on respectively)

What's the possible solution to this?
Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by Phobos19: 9:58am On Apr 12, 2022
I also need to add that the few weeks back, the CEL light was triggered on, scanned and it was the P0685 code on. Drove for a while and it went off on it's own.

Good morning guys, what do you think of getting an Honda Civic 2016 as a first car.

I’d also like to know price and if anybody has it in foreign used

You have all these codes and CEL is still off? How? Or are they pending?

Well, I suspect you have an intermittent short circuit fault somewhere.
Or maybe not.
Difficult to diagnose remotely.

First check for...
- low transmission fluid
- dirty transmission fluid
- leaking transmission fluid
- or maybe you are not using the right Honda transmission fluid. DW-1.
Resolve any accordingly.
If all are OK or if symptoms persist, then DM... Contact in signature.

Oh, understood now.
That means they are pending.

So, just look into the points listed above and revert.

Yes, they are pending
Got the car foreign used about 2 years ago, I haven't changed the transmission oil since it was bought. Colour hasn't changed much since it was bought (a colour midway between new trans oil and a very old/burnt one)
I've ordered for new DW1 ATF....should get it delivered here tomorrow or the day after

Thanks a lot

I was thinking about checking the solenoids out before the oil change, I shouldn't?

Good morning, I bought a Nigerian used Elantra012 and the fan is on steady run, and I just changed my engine and I asked my mechanic to install the thermostat inside the engine because I don't want my fan to be running all the time. But the mechanic advised against it. His explanation is that, since I changed the engine, the car system has been altered that I need to put the fan direct. What do you think sir?

GAZZUZZ:
Operation of the cooling Fan(s)

Like the thermostat, the cooling fan has to be controlled so that it allows the engine to maintain a constant temperature in most cars like my peugeot 406 the fan starts up around 87-88 degrees Celsius and stays on until the temp drops to 79degress.

Front-wheel drive cars have electric fans because the engine is usually mounted transversely, meaning the output of the engine points toward the side of the car. The fans are controlled either with a thermostatic switch or by the engine computer, and they turn on when the temperature of the coolant goes above a set point. They turn back off when the temperature drops below that point.
Rear-wheel drive cars with longitudinal engines usually have engine-driven cooling fans. These fans have a thermostatically controlled viscous clutch. This clutch is positioned at the hub of the fan, in the airflow coming through the radiator. This special viscous clutch is much like the viscous coupling sometimes found in all-wheel drive cars.

Connecting the fans to work all the time when the engine is running is bad for the engine and will reduce engine life and cause engine to burn more fuel.

Installing a thermostat and returning fans back to normal is the standard.

But

Are other components of the cooling system still in above average condition?

If you have been using water in your coolant lines for a long time there is a possibility the Aluminum parts must have corroded especially at joints where rubber meets Aluminum.

Corrosion causes leaks, which in turn causes overheating.

Also if your coolant rubber hoses are old, they could rupture without notice.

Restoration of your thermostat and fans will restore high pressure to the coolant lines , but if your system cannot handle it, there will be leaks and ultimately be fine failure.

It's one thing to follow standard operating procedures.

It's another to have a functional vehicle that consumes a little more petrol .

Many thanks to Oga Gazzuz, I checked in yesterday at his hospital (workshop) to admit a patient (Toyota Highlander) but there is no free bedspace and the doctor (Gazzuz) feared that I might not be able to cough out the hospital bill smiley. But I'm grateful for the free consultation I received from him yesterday and he made me understand some things. I promised him to bring another patient after the Easter break.
Thanks for your help, catch ya later

Please I need guidance on what to do. My car drives well except for the check engine light which comes up after about 2 weeks or few days after refueling. The car also hesitate to fire, about a second delay when I accelerate. After scanning the scar with my OB11 scanner these are the results. It’s an ES350.
